Okay, so, first things first: this letter is super long. You don't have to read it! I've tried to make it easy to navigate, if you choose to take the plunge; but you can take a look at as much or as little as you like, or ignore the whole thing entirely. I have no squicks, triggers, or hard DNWs you need to look out for, and I'd love to receive anything you're interested in writing for me (which, definitely don't worry too much about making sure my gift lines up perfectly with a genre tag, either). I've written this up in case it would be helpful to you to have some thoughts and prompts to get you started. But if you find all this yammering useless and boring, by all means X away right now and pretend I had a blank signup! I just love these fandoms a lot, and am chronically longwinded. /o\ So, yeah. Have a blast with whichever request it is you're filling, and enjoy your Fandom5K! ♥
If you like long letters, then I hope this one fits the bill and gives you everything you need to get going. :D I'm on the AO3 as
Damkianna. This journal is now mostly exchange letters (in my Yuletide tag, my rarewomen/rarelywritten tag, and my fandom5k tag), but by all means take a look back through it if you like—and if you spot a prompt you love somewhere in one of those letters that's for a fandom I've also requested this year, go ahead and run with it, even if I don't repeat it in this letter! I'm still interested in anything and everything I've ever asked for in my fandoms; and there's no need to abide by any of my old DNWs, either.
In General | Constantine (2005) | Dark Matter (TV)
The Huntsman (movies) | Jeremiah (TV) | Tidelands (TV)
If you dread long letters, but you felt like you should at least click on this, I promise you there's a bottom line—write me anything! Whatever you were looking forward to getting to write 5k about when you decided to offer the fandom we matched on, by all means go for it. :D I'm interested in any kind of story you'd like to tell me about these canons and characters. An adventure in the same vein as an episode? An AU where everything is different? A sequence of canon-compliant missing scenes that add up to 5k? Or medieval AU secret soulmates in an arranged marriage? Fluff, h/c, porn; angst, horror, whump. Any of it! All of it! Please consider this me opting into whatever you consider opt-in (and whatever you consider opt-out, too, for that matter).
For this exchange, I'm dividing my requests up by genre tag just to have some way to break them down and organize them. And also in case you like the genre tags, and want my thoughts about the specific ones you offered! But I definitely consider them optional, and all my prompts are also optional; they're somewhere to start, not boundaries you need to worry about not crossing. I'd be happy to receive smut, or horror, or funny things happening, even if I didn't officially ask for the corresponding tags—they're just there to indicate broad areas of interest and help me split my prompts up.
I'm also requesting specific pairings in some fandoms and individual characters in others, but no matter which I picked, please know that I adore and would be delighted to receive:
• shipfic! I ship all kinds of things, and I'm here for m/m, f/f, and m/f; background ships of all types are a-okay to include, and poly is more than welcome. :D (But don't feel any need to worry about how shippy a gift you intended as shipfic needs to be—I love friendship fic and enemyship fic, UST and RST, pining that everyone's trying not to acknowledge and hatesex where characters are fucking but not kissing ... So if you end up with something that's full of feelings but no touching, or touching but no kissing, or fucking but no feelings, rest assured that any or all of that is fantastic and I will be thrilled about it!)
• gen! Anything you'd like to write about my requested characters, separately or together or within an ensemble, would be awesome. Backstory? Futurefic? Canon-day character study? Episode tags that add up to 5k? I love loyalty, I love friendship; I love biting antagonism, I love betrayal; I love angst and drama and whump, shenanigans and quiet moments and introspection. Whatever you like!
• free space! Which is to say anything that I've foolishly left off the metaphorical bingo card here. This one super iddy thing you've been waiting for an excuse to write? Your very favorite trope in all the world? The weird idea you suspect absolutely no one else is interested in? I want that thing too, whatever it is! :D Unusual POVs, tenses, or formats; epistolary fic, fake in-universe documentation, CYOA; your post-modernist take on wingfic, written in future conditional. I WANT TO READ IT. LET ME. *grabby hands*
I'm here for adventures and action, banter and dialogue, or characters stranded alone with nothing to do but think. 5k of five things/five times, 5k of missing scenes or episode tags, 5k of canon-divergent AU going in a completely different direction! 5k of everything going as wrong as it could possibly go, or 5k of fix-it where nothing went wrong at all. 5k of setting AU, or 5k of 100% canon-compliant worldbuilding! Seriously, whatever it is you want to write me 5k of, I'm here for it, and so excited to read it. :D!

I'd love absolutely anything you wanted to write me about Angela, wherever you'd like to take it and whenever you wanted to set it. :D 5k of pre-canon backstory adventures, where she's wrestling with her abilities while solving cases? Or an AU where she got locked up along with Isabel? Post-canon where she has to figure out what to do with the Spear, and something out there wants to take it from her? I'd adore a fix-it where she's able to get to Isabel and stop her from jumping, and all the answers are easier to find from there, just as much as one where Mammon succeeds in crossing over and Angela has to survive the apocalypse!
I definitely do ship her with John, and would love anything from 5k of casefic with the two of them and heaps of UST to 5k of straight-up *waves hands* demonic sex pollen smut. BUT I'm also here for Angela/Isabel, if psychic f/f incest is your jam; or for Angela/Gabriel, if you'd like to write 5k of post-canon Angela helping Gabriel navigate wingless mortal existence; or anything else you ship. :D And I adore everything about the feel and aesthetic of the world in the movie, so by all means give me 5k about asshole angels and demons in the shadows, the loopholes of salvation and damnation and what else there is in Hell's version of the Bible!
This movie definitely is not a particularly faithful adaptation of comics!Constantine, but I adore it anyway—I love the near-horror aesthetic, I love basically everybody in it, I love the plot; I love love love people facing a kind of disaster they can't really be prepared for (who could?) but doing their best in the face of it anyway and prevailing, learning to accept parts of themselves they couldn't before, caring about each other almost despite themselves. I LOVE ALL OF IT, and please rest assured I'll be equally happy with something that leans into the horror-adjacent vibe hard ... or something sweet and understated and heartwarming, whichever direction you want to go. :D
I would be STOKED to read anything you'd like to spend 5k telling me about Angela Dodson! ANYTHING. :D I absolutely love every part of her character arc, her struggle to rediscover herself and trust herself after spending so many years telling herself her powers weren't real, the quietly excruciating loss of Isabel and the equally quiet connection she forms with John, how she deals with this whole other huge awful side of reality spilling out in front of her ... ANGELA FOREVER. ♥
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
:: Please feel free to tell me all about Angela pre-canon, working as a police officer and running into the aftermath of the occult, even if she didn't know (or refused to acknowledge?) that that was what it was—and Isabel sensing it without needing to be told, whenever Angela came for a visit? :D
:: Or! Totally here for 5k of missing scenes from canon in Angela's POV, her pain over Isabel and how her powers feel to her, the process of putting the pieces together and realizing what's coming for them ...
:: But I would also absolutely love more adventures post-canon, too! Tell me all about her right after John leaves, trying to figure out what to do with the spear (maybe Midnite ends up helping her? Or Gabriel?) and keeping it safe until she's decided how to hide it. The first time she has to perform an exorcism, while John's gone? Curses, or hauntings, or people who need a psychic's help? Or does John get himself in trouble elsewhere, and Angela "sees" it happen and comes to the rescue? :D
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: On the not-so-fix-it end of the spectrum—I'm super weak for apocalypses, and also post-apocalyptic rebuilding, so by all means give me 5k of the world where Mammon makes it through! Does he revere his "mother"? Or does Angela get out of there with John, and then they just have to figure out how to survive literal hell on earth? (Ambiguous/implied-downer endings are more than okay here! As are improbably positive ones where they find other survivors and start teaching them basic occult survival skills. :D)
:: Or give me 5k of the world where Angela and Isabel were both committed, and are still targets thanks to their powers—could John still track them down? Or would they end up breaking out to find him first, having "seen" him and realizing that he might be able to help them?
:: Or! By all means feel free to let Angela's powers allow her to get to Isabel before Isabel can throw herself off a building. What happens next? How much does Isabel actually know about what's coming, and how does her being on the board change the game?
:: Or! Diverge from basically anywhere else you like. :D Might John have gotten arrested at the scene of an exorcism or murder, and ended up Angela's problem much earlier? Or maybe Angela could have convinced Isabel to be a little more chill about the psychic thing, and no one would have been institutionalized at all—would Angela still have ended up a cop?
• Getting Together
:: I definitely do ship Angela with John, so consider this your carte blanche to shove them into any shippy/tropey scenario you please! The entire range from exorcism h/c to "turns out marriage actually provides certain occult defenses, and obviously that's the only reason we're doing it, no secret feelings here!" to a lust curse making them bang is wide open to you. :D
:: And I'd also love anything that's a little more subtly shippy, too, for the record. Pining and UST, "we kind of had a thing going but didn't talk about it and you left town right afterward but now you're back, what do", settling into some kind of partnership when John comes back and dancing around each other ... by all means keep it understated, if you'd rather!
:: BUT I would also be here 100% for twincest with Isabel (I'm a sucker for incredibly strong sibling connections, and "psychic twins" is even better for that us-against-the-world no-one-else-could-ever-come-as-close angle *_____*), as sweet or dysfunctional as you'd like to play it; or Angela/Midnite post-canon, as she starts figuring things out after John's departure? Angela/Gabriel, if she's stuck helping Gabriel figure out how to human? (And please use whatever pronouns feel appropriate to you for Gabriel, by the way!) Any shipfic you'd like to write me with Angela front-and-center, I would love to read!
• Worldbuilding
:: Obviously there's the whole "hey, the occult is real" angle, and by all means dive into it—feel free to draw from other Constantine canons for tidbits, or from real-world sources (Enochian occultism!), or just make shit up. :D Five things Angela's surprised to learn are true and/or real? Protective magicks she acquires, or ways she learns to protect herself/her apartment/her belongings? Any other interesting things it turns out Duck the cat is capable of?
:: And of course I'd also love it if you wanted to delve a little bit more into her powers! How they work, how they feel to her, the kinds of things she's psychic about or able to use them for; where they came from, whether they're from Heaven or Hell or just a totally neutral human thing—whether she ever finds anybody else who's got them, or what Midnite or Gabriel feel like to her when she reaches out with them ... Seriously, turn it into 5k and dress it up in a fic suit and I'm there. :D
:: But! Anything else about the world of Constantine that you're interested in exploring through Angela's eyes is absolutely an option. Midnite's backstory—the club and all of its various patrons, and how exactly he came to set himself up there? Gabriel's experiences as an angel—what it's like to be one, how it felt, the personal experience of God and Satan as a non-human celestial being ...
To be frank, I'd be thrilled with 5k about pretty much any combination of these characters, and as much or as little shippiness as you're inclined to include! A canon-style plotty adventure with the tiniest hint of shippy feelings somewhere in the background is just as welcome as full-on shippy tropefic full of smut. Or, of course, 5k of pure gen about Misaki ruining people's lives (including her own)! So, yeah, basically any Dark Matter you're willing to give me would be very much welcome. :D Set it whenever you like: job-of-the-week way back in S1 when Three and Six are still trying to figure themselves out? Nyx finding her place on the ship and starting to think it might turn out to be home, in S2? A post-canon AU fixing anything you please?
Or! What might have happened if Misaki's coup had succeeded? If Two had fought her on the bridge instead of Nyx? If Three had uncovered Six's GA background before he could turn them all in? Feel free to write me the most excruciating deathfic you've got in you ... or let people be rescued and have their happy endings. 100% here for any shipfic trope you'd like to indulge in (h/c? even more amnesia? fuckbuddies catching feelings?), and for as much or as little worldbuilding as you'd like to do (corporate politics? Zairon? synthetics? the blob-alien dimension? or none of those things at all!). Anything goes!
I still miss this show so much, and G O D that cliffhanger ;-; my HEART. So! I would love more of this universe any way I can get it—and please rest assured I'm into all kinds of different elements of the show, the danger and uncertainty and struggle to make hard choices, but also all the tropey shenanigans and humor and people redefining themselves as crew and as a kind of family. :D Dark and angsty and difficult, silly and sweet and affectionate, I'm there for it either way!
Misaki! I will be thrilled to read whatever story you'd like to tell me about Misaki—which definitely includes fic where she's angrily stabbing people in the back and plotting the overthrow of her childhood crush, for the record. :D I love her chilliness and control and composure just as much as I love it when that cover cracks and all her bitterness and fury and resentment spill everywhere! She is so unapologetically scheming and terrible and relentless, and I think that's great.
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
:: Pre-canon—Misaki's adventures in the imperial guard? :D What other plots has she encouraged, foiled, or manipulated to suit her own needs? How exactly did she rise up through the ranks to the point where she was the natural replacement for Akita?
:: Or serving Hiro, early in the show! What did she think of him? Were there attempts on his life she wanted to let succeed—or chose to stop because that suited her better? Did she ever go looking for Ryo?
:: What is it like immediately after Ryo takes power again? What are the repercussions of that murder party in the throne room, and how does Misaki manage them? Does she have to plot/scheme/kill anybody to handle objections to Hiro's death/Ryo's ascension?
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: On the not-necessarily-a-fix-it end of things—what might have happened if Misaki had been the one who ended up on the Raza (while out looking for Ryo, maybe?) and got her mind wiped? What would "Four" have been like then? Would she have wanted her memories back, or not?
:: Or if her fight with Nyx had gone a little differently—if she'd been defeated and captured, maybe to use as a bargaining chip against Ryo? What would the crew have done with her? Would she have escaped, or turned on them? Or learned about the aliens, and changed tacks in the face of that kind of threat?
:: Fix-it from Misaki's perspective: what if her coup had succeeded, and Two hadn't killed her in the middle of it? Would she genuinely have been in a better position to win the war with Pyr than Ryo was? How would she have handled the corporations, or the blob-aliens?
:: Or fix-it from other people's perspective: if she'd lived and Ryo had exiled her for her betrayal ... could she have ended up on the Raza? She's willing to abide people who are useful to her; if her life depended on the crew's forbearance, could she get to the point where she valued them sincerely, or even wanted to help them?
• Getting Together
:: Because I'm here for Misaki shipfic, if you're at all interested in writing any! And I define "shipfic" very loosely, because it could easily take way more than 5k for Misaki to be in anything she'd call a relationship—a sequence of altercations that escalate into hatesex, with basically anybody? :D
:: Or anything that builds a foundation for shipfic? I would love a story about, say, the slow development of a certain grudging respect between Misaki and empress!Nyx ... or between Misaki and Two, in that universe where Misaki was taken captive by the crew ... or maybe threatening/choking Three a few too many times results in the revelation that he's into that?
:: And tbh I would also be over the moon about anything leaning on Misaki's canonical relationships with anybody—romantic or not! How her rivalry with Teku began and escalated, or scenes from her relationship, whatever it may have been, with Ryo's stepmother? Or whatever feelings she had for Ryo, even if they weren't enough to stop her from deciding he was in her way; where could that have ended up (good or bad) in a universe where he did choose her for a consort? (Or was she lying about having been in love with him, solely to mess with his head?)
• Worldbuilding
:: The big obvious hook here is Zairon, and I'm SO THERE for any imperial space worldbuilding you'd like to do using Misaki—young Misaki and lessons on history/military strategy? Older Misaki and court intrigue? Present-day Misaki and the political situation in the galaxy more generally?
:: Or! Anything about Pyr would also be great, since we saw next to nothing of it on the show—has Misaki ever visited any of their worlds/attempted to infiltrate their forces? How did the war start, anyway? (What do Pyr and Zairon tell their people about how it started? Is the truth closer to one or the other, or actually something else entirely?)
:: But honestly I'd be thrilled with anything about the universe of Dark Matter that's filtered through Misaki's perspective! What does she know about synthetics, or about androids? (Has Zairon built any, or is augmenting your forces with constructed individuals "dishonorable"?) What was known about the Seers before they arrived and offered their services to Hiro, and what did Misaki think of them? Whatever you can spend 5k theorizing about with Misaki involved somehow, I would love to read it. :D
I still ship this so hard, help—I love how equally matched they are as fighters, and I love all the parallels between them (that they both were parts of "experiments", in a sense, and that they both managed to escape those experiments and get away from everybody who wanted to use them, and have to figure out who they are and how to live their lives), and also they are both super hot and I am super shallow. /o\ :D I am equally here for a tearjerking 5k about Two mourning Nyx's loss, or a totally self-indulgent 5k about everyone being alive and no problems and *waves hands* fucking all night long in the sparring room on the Raza. Whatever you're interested in!
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
:: Anything you'd like to write about a job-of-the-week/heist-of-the-week, or people-needing-help-of-the-week, whatever it might be, that has Nyx/Two undertones or a Nyx/Two angle (pretending to be married for cover purposes, and having feelings about it? :D Getting in a tight spot and refusing to leave each other behind? :D), would be wonderful!
:: Or make the ship a bit more of a focus! I'm easy for h/c and rescues, so anything action-y with Nyx getting nabbed by the Seers again and Two charging after her, or Two getting recaptured by Alex Rook and Dwarf Star and Nyx going after her, would be great. :D Or a time loop, but this one gives Two a chance to save Nyx from Misaki and stop Eos-7 from blowing up, if she can just figure out how?
:: Or basically any other tropey shenanigans you're interested in, seriously, because the show left the door wide open—amnesia, but this time it's Nyx who's lost her memory? Grieving post-S2 Two encountering a Nyx from an alternate universe (maybe even one who lost her own Two)? Trapped on a zombie apocalypse planet, or in the Marauder, or huddling for warmth? :D
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: Venture as far from canon as you like: is there a universe where Dwarf Star's interested in the Seers, so Nyx ends up in the same facility as Rebecca? Or a universe where Nyx escaped from them earlier, and Portia Lin picked her up? A universe where Nyx and Portia Lin had a thing but it was weird and messed-up, and then Nyx runs into this woman who's totally Portia but claiming not to remember anything ... except Nyx can't predict her anymore, because all her "data" was on Portia, so maybe it's true after all?
:: Or branch off anywhere in canon itself! If Nyx had been able to rescue Milo after all—could the two of them together have seen what was coming, and done something about it? If Four had told Nyx he was thinking about taking his imprint back, would she have had the data to guess what would happen? If she'd never escaped the Seers at all, would Ryo have wanted to keep her for himself even if he still killed the rest of them? Could Two have found her there, and freed her, and taken her back to the Raza?
:: On the fix-it end of things, obviously I'd be thrilled if you wanted to specifically save Nyx, any which way that works for you! Could the android have downloaded her/taken an imprint the way they did with Sarah? Or gotten there fast enough to intercede (presumably poison intended for biological organisms doesn't have much of an effect on her)? Or if Nyx had accepted Ryo's offer ... and then contacted Two secretly from Zairon, to coordinate stealing back the blink drive or sabotaging his fleet?
• Getting Together
:: Set a get-together at any point you like: while they're still in prison (passing time in that sim turns into ~passing time in that sim~, except oh no, they've caught feelings?) or after, or even in S3—you don't have to walk me through whatever saved Nyx, just have her alive and well and write me futurefic about her helping Two find her daughter! Or lean into it: could Two use her nanites to heal Nyx, except they have to stay in physical contact for an extended period of time for it to work? *waggles eyebrows*
:: I'm equally here for slow build that's just starting to get somewhere in 5k ... or sex pollen/huddling for warmth/Two's looking for a new fuckbuddy and Nyx wants to get Four off her mind, and maybe it's only convenience (until it isn't). :D Anything where they're helping each other deal with canonical events or their aftermath would be great, as would anything that's just sort of "in S2 somewhere" and oops, they got locked in the Marauder somehow.
:: And just to be clear, I really am here for any level of shippy feelings—from Two pining silently for Nyx while Nyx is still struggling with her feelings for Four-except-he's-Ryo-now, to 5k of the most intense UST you can manage, even if they never actually touch or kiss on-page. Or 5k of the filthiest porn you've got up your sleeve! (Nyx does take that Shadow Devon gave her ... and starts having longer and more detailed premonitions, which happen to be of banging Two into next Tuesday? :D)
• Worldbuilding
:: I'm here for any sort of Nyx-centric worldbuilding angle you'd like to take on, whether it's all the headcanon you ever developed about the Seers based on that little snippet of backstory we got, or a rundown of all the data about the state of the galaxy she still has in her head after having it fed to her in their machines. Or anything that leans on what it's like for her on a day-to-day basis, the things she does see and the things she doesn't—whether having a guess about what's coming makes some things about her relationship with Two easier, and others harder?
:: Or! Anything about Two/Portia/Rebecca, using stuff we learned in S3 or based off your own speculation back in S2. What being synthetic feels like to her—before and after that nanite upgrade? What it was like being possessed by that blob-alien; whether it used Nyx's likeness to interact with her, the same way we saw an alien use the crew's likenesses to talk with Three (is that creepier in a universe where Nyx is dead and Two knows this isn't her, or in a universe where Nyx made it to S3?). I would love for you to lean into the body horror aspects of being possessed like that—what kinds of sensations are involved in having something like that inside you? Was she watching herself do it all, or trapped inside her own head with no idea what was going on?
:: And of course I'd be happy with anything from canon-compliant futurefic that references Two's feelings for Nyx somewhere but is mostly about the alien invasion ... to an AU where the android did take an imprint of Nyx after all, and Two builds her a new android body with all your headcanon about how that would work/what it would feel like/android capabilities and experiences, and nothing hurts. :D
I ship this ridiculously hard also, because I love everything about Three (his douchery! his heart of gold! his denial that his heart of gold is a thing!) and I love everything about Six (his glorious angsty backstory! his betrayals and regrets and desire to always do better!), and all the twists and turns in their relationship with each other just kill me—that they've been at odds so much but also had to rely on each other, and when the chips are down they're crew, aaaaaa. (Also that scene in the facility with the alien rift where Three's panicking and basically climbing Six like a tree, and Six reluctantly holds him still so he can be sedated, jeeeeeesus. *____*)
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
:: Seriously, set this anytime you like—I'm as interested in Three and a Six who thinks he used to be Griffin Jones, or just found out about his real identity as Kal and the GA, as in S2 Six trying to earn back Three's trust, or S3 Three with all his blob-alien-related trauma having to rescue Six from the blob-alien dimension!
:: Trap them on a planet together? Force them to rescue each other? Get Three arrested by the GA, so Six has to go undercover as himself to get him out, and Three assumes it's just that he betrayed them again! ;-; Or maybe they have to pretend to be married for ~reasons, or Six stays stuck in that simulation and Three has to actually go in there and convince him it's not real, or or or. :D
:: I'm also extremely weak for people being forced to hurt each other as part of a cover, and also for self-sacrifice attempts, so pretty much anything where Three's trying hard to throw himself on a grenade but Six won't let him, or Six and Three run into people who knew Marcus Boone and discover that "Kal" is ex-GA and are expecting Three to beat Six up (and Six does let him ;-;), would be spectacular!
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: What might have happened if either one of them had accidentally gotten re-imprinted with their memories during S1? Or both of them (Kal aware that he's GA and undercover! Boone watching him all the time, not sure why Portia hasn't killed him yet!)?
:: Or if Six had been the one who'd gotten implanted with that blob-alien in S2? Or if he hadn't left the ship during that chunk of S3 (or had, but Three had opted to go with him as grudging backup :D)? Or go back a lot further: if Kal had never gone undercover, how else might he have encountered the crew, and Three, eventually? Or if Marcus Boone had stayed with Tanner's gang instead of joining up with Portia?
:: Or, of course, fix it: the S3 finale didn't necessarily kill Six, but it easily could have—so tell me all about the future where it didn't and he's just stuck in the wrong dimension! Does Three end up linked to some more aliens, and "see" him there? Or go back and fix something else—what if Six had never betrayed the crew to the GA in the first place, at the end of S1?
• Getting Together
:: There's honestly nothing I wouldn't read about these guys, so any get-together trope you love would be A++! Handcuffed together (Six as GA, trying to break Three out, and having to follow procedure securing him ... to himself)? Accidental telepathy (maybe Three's exposure to the aliens + Six's exposure to the aliens = oops, mindlink)? Time loop, except it's Six instead of Three ... but Three believes him and is genuinely helpful, thanks to Three's own past experience? :D
:: Also, just tossing this out there, but that episode where they were stuck in the Marauder together, with Three still pissed off and Six trying to talk it out, was gold—if you'd like to roll with that but bring it to a shippier and/or pornier conclusion, that would be amazing. *_____* I would adore all kinds of longer and more fraught arguments with each other about Six's betrayal, with Six gradually realizing that it stung Three weirdly deeply, and why is that, anyway ... ?
:: And of course, as noted, I love Three getting himself beaten up for stupid reasons, and also Six being badass and heroic ... or Six getting himself beaten up for noble reasons and Three bitching him out for it but also helping him! So anything with h/c and arguing about ethics and being reluctantly into each other for 5k, I mean, I'm so there. :D
• Worldbuilding
:: The aliens! If you'd like to tell me more about what it feels like to be taken over by them, what the "presence" of that rift was like and whatever leftover traces of their presence still stick, from Three's perspective, please do!
:: Or, of course, if you're interested in rolling with "Six trapped on the wrong side of the rift"—what is it like there? What is left, once the blob-aliens are done consuming all the energy in a universe? How do they organize themselves as a society? (They've got ships; does that mean those ships have captains? Engineers? How do they conceptualize whatever roles they've got?)
:: Or focus in on S3 Six and his attempts to organize the independent colonies! How many are there, anyway, and what are some of the problems they face in forming an alliance that the show didn't get into? How did Six manage to talk them into coming to the table at all? Seriously, I will devour as much made-up space politics as you're interested in writing me. :D
back to top
The fandom tag obviously includes both movies, but for the record, you do NOT need to have watched Winter's War to write me a Ravenna/Snow White gift I will love! By all means feel free to use whatever bits of either movie you like or are interested in, and leave the rest. During SWatH, with zero references to any background stuff from WW, or post-SWatH but deliberately taking things in a different direction than WW? YES. During or after WW, or referencing the parts of Ravenna's backstory that are depicted there? ALSO YES. Either way!
I ship this like burning, and I'd be thrilled with anything you'd like to write me! Post-canon quests and adventures for Queen Snow White—retrieving Ravenna from death or from the mirror, or simply overshadowed with the relentless memory of her? AU where Snow White is the one Ravenna tricked into marrying her, except it doesn't go the way Ravenna expects it to? Dubcon or noncon set during canon (while Snow White's imprisoned? While Ravenna's still disguised as William?) ... that slow-burns its way into something more real? Or stays creepy? Delving into Snow White's connection to the land, or Ravenna's ravens-and-shadows magic, or the nature of the mirror. Anything!
I love these movies so very much, help—they are so dramatic and glorious and just 100% my fairytale aesthetic, with just enough realism for the characters to feel like people and not just archetypes, but still full of magic and adventure and true love. ♥ Danger, adventure, quests; beauty, bravery, defeating evil ... plus Charlize Theron, and Kristen Stewart in silver armor. WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE, REALLY. :D
This ship was basically made for me, on so many different levels: viciously powerful queen, obsessed with virtuous princess! Ravenna, in all her bitter murderous rage and resentment, and Snow White and her calm steady compassion, good but not soft, gentle but not weak, determined to save her kingdom. ALSO THEY KISSED, TECHNICALLY. So, yeah. Anything you'd like to write me about them, I would love to read! (And I should note here that I do like William and the huntsman, and am also intrigued by Ravenna's weirdly intense relationships with Finn and/or Freya, so. Feel free to include interactions with any of them in the background—or, you know, have Ravenna murder them one by one, the better to keep Snow White all to herself. Whichever. ;D)
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
:: I would love love love more adventures in the same general mold as either or both movies. :D Even a reference to Ravenna/Snow will satisfy me, too, so please feel free to write about post-movie Queen Snow White with a new quest to undertake, remembering/thinking about/dreaming of Ravenna—you definitely don't need to resurrect Ravenna to make me happy!
:: ... But if you did want to bring Ravenna back/remove her from the mirror, I definitely wouldn't mind! What might Snow White need to do, to get her out again without going mad? Would she be tempted to leave Ravenna imprisoned in there? Find a way to get in and out herself, and talk to Ravenna? (Who I'm sure would be thrilled to see her, and also would probably try to kill her again. /o\ :D) Or discovering she needs to retrieve Ravenna from the dead—seriously, lean into your favorite fairytale, east of the sun and west of the moon, walking in iron shoes until they fall off your feet, go wild!
:: Or maybe some kind of magical accident resurrects Ravenna—would she try to hide herself from Snow White, or disguise herself and walk right back into Snow White's court? (Would she want Snow White's help to die again, even—and if she did, would Snow White agree to give her what she was asking for, or not?) Might she have amnesia, or be cursed, and need to set out on a quest of her own to undo it? Or be forced to reluctantly accept Snow White's equally reluctant offer to help her?
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: On the "not so fix-it" end of things, or, like, fix-it as far as Ravenna's concerned but not for anybody else: feel free to lean into the horror elements of these movies and write me the story where Ravenna wins—cuts Snow White's heart out and eats it, and rules a deathless empire (but starts seeing Snow White in the mirror? Dreaming of her? Or is haunted by her, and can't forget about her?). :D
:: BUT rest assured I'd also be thrilled with a story where things go sideways a little earlier! What if Ravenna had stayed disguised as William for longer than she did, and traveled with Snow White and the huntsman much further than she intended to? (I love love love slow burn and unwillingly starting to ~feel things~ about people you ostensibly hate. LOVE IT. :D) Or if Snow White had realized something was off—if they'd been able to take Ravenna prisoner somehow? Any excuse for lots of Ravenna taunting Snow White and Snow White learning to see through it, basically. :D
:: Or branch off earlier still! If Ravenna had been busy ruling a kingdom of her own, rather than looking for a new one to take over—would she still have learned about Snow White from the mirror, when Snow White came of age? Gone looking for her then, and insisted on her hand in marriage or tried to seduce her away to steal her heart? (I'm also extremely weak for political marriage, and for "fucking someone for ~reasons but then feelings happen to you along the way, oops". Just FYI. :D)
• Getting Together
:: Obviously there's a lot of antagonism and unpleasantness to deal with here, so please rest assured that in 5k I don't necessarily expect you to get further with these two than "creepy UST and a lot of intense staring"! I'll adore anything that rolls with Ravenna's canonical obsessiveness and cruelty, with unstated or understated attraction underneath it somewhere. *____*!
:: BUT if you're up for it, I would also love anything you'd like to write me where they manage to get a little further than that: hatesex? Ravenna deciding to seduce Snow White to her side (JUST FOR EASIER ACCESS TO HER UNARMORED BODY, YOU UNDERSTAND) and succeeding? Or finding it more difficult and yet also more rewarding than she'd anticipated? :D
:: Or, of course, give me 5k of the beginnings of slow-burning their way toward something genuinely romantic? I love love love stories about recovery, stories about people who think they're unforgivable but they're wrong—anything where Ravenna has, even a little tiny bit, even despite herself, started to work her way toward her own happy ending and toward a point where she's able to find herself genuinely in love with Snow White, would be amazing!
:: And I'm here for any ridiculous tropey scenario you'd like to use here, too: might Ravenna have misunderstood the spell she intends to work, and whatever ritual she does with Snow White finally in her grasp results not in Snow White's heart tearing itself from her chest ... but in a soulbond? :D Or have magic go unexpectedly wrong in any other way you like—amnesia, or time loops (Ravenna kills Snow White a hundred times, but keeps waking up that same day anyway, until at last she's so desperate she has to try something else? :D), transformations or curses, and of course true love's kiss, as long as we're in the middle of a fairytale!
• Worldbuilding
:: On Ravenna's end of things, I'm here for any and all worldbuilding you want to do relating to any part of her life—other kingdoms she's conquered or ruled, legends that have risen up in her wake and names she's been given? Does she miss other places she once ruled, people or things; art, music, stories, so old no one else remembers they once existed? Backstory with Finn and/or Freya, where their magic comes from and how they discovered their talent for it, whether she studied it or stole it or just gradually learned to use it, the first time she did anything deliberate with it or killed anyone with it or burst apart into a flock of crows and flew away. ANYTHING.
:: Or! On Snow White's end, I am FASCINATED by the stuff about the true king/queen, their apparent connection to the health and bounty of the land they rule—anything about what that means, the history of that connection, how it feels to Snow White (whether she can tell, whether the land dying under Ravenna's rule hurt, or frayed that connection when she was only just starting to realize it was there), whether there are ways to strengthen it, whether as queen at last it's essential that she go down to the fields and shove her hands in the dirt sometimes. :D
:: Honestly, pretty much anything about this universe that you'd like to write about would be my jam—foreign relations, under King Magnus or Ravenna or Queen Snow White, or alliance-building afterward; relations between species, historically or under Snow White's rule, given that we definitely see dwarves and trolls and fairies. (That Snow White says the Lord's Prayer, but this is a land where magic is real and the white hart appears to her is FASCINATING to me, so if you'd like to speculate on the functions of a Christian-like church in a place that's clearly soaked with other powers, please feel free—or ignore it and focus on magic! EITHER WOULD BE EXCELLENT.)

THEO. :D I can still remember watching the pilot for the first time and being so intrigued by Theo, and so bummed when it seemed like she might have been a one-off character ... and then SO THRILLED when she started showing up again! And I would happily read 5k of pretty much any story you'd like to tell me about Theo—straight-up post-apocalyptic adventure, filling in backstory or what happened to her in between her appearances on the show; or canon divergence branching off from basically anywhere; or post-canon where she's part of the effort to rebuild after Daniel's army is defeated.
I also ship her with just about everybody, so if there's some Theo shipfic that lives in your heart that you've been waiting for an excuse to write (Theo/Erin? Theo/Markus? Theo/Jeremiah? Theo/Kurdy? Theo/Elizabeth? Theo/Libby?), by all means give it to me. :D And I'm incredibly weak for post-apocalyptic settings, so absolutely anything about the world of Jeremiah that you'd like to explore through a story about Theo would be amazing, from the logistics of running a single town to attempting to forge an alliance with the other local leaders—who they are, where they're from, how their communities are organized. Anything!
This show is actually probably the root cause of my affection for apocalypses and their aftermath—it was so earnest (sometimes to the point of cringe, I admit) and I totally adore people doing their best to come together and build something new out of the ashes, even if they struggle with it, even when there are setbacks, which means it gave me just about everything I could have asked for. :D Which, I definitely do love both the effort and commitment and the struggles and setbacks, the times when the characters defaulted to cruelty or distrust and the times when they extended unexpected kindness, so darkfic and happy endings are both on the table!
THEO. :D Theo's arc has always been one of my favorite things about the show—starting off as much more of an antagonist than not, and gaining more and more nuance every time she reappeared. I love how smart and tough and difficult she is, that she's always looking out for herself but at the same time aware that there's more going on in the world, and that every now and then the latter tips her in new and unexpected directions. So, yeah. Any story you'd like to tell me about Theo, I'm here for it!
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
:: Pretty much anything in the style of canon that fills in her backstory would be amazing! How did she end up in charge of Clairfield? (By all means run with everything she said about it in the pilot being basically true ... or decide she exaggerated or smoothed over a few things. :D) What kinds of challenges had she faced before Jeremiah and Kurdy showed up, and how did she handle them? How did she first learn about Thunder Mountain/"the end of the world"?
:: And of course I'd love 5k of missing scenes and/or episode tags that fill in some of the gaps between Theo's various appearances on the show! What happened to her between the pilot and 1.11? There's got to be more to it than she'd have said. Or between 1.11 and 1.18? After 2.05? ANY TIME SHE WAS OFFSCREEN, PRETTY MUCH. :D
:: Or! Post-canon adventures of any kind—or, well, leading into post-canon, because she's offscreen for the end of S2: where is she when Daniel's army shows up? How does she survive it (or does she go down fighting, scratching tooth and nail? ;-; OH THEO)? What happens next? Does she come back and help start rebuilding in the aftermath—playing it like it's for her own benefit, but inwardly relieved there's still something left?
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: I'd be thrilled with an AU branching off from just about anywhere—what if Theo had in fact discovered Thunder Mountain first, or had followed Jeremiah and Kurdy there? (Waited for them to leave, pretended to need help, and managed to get herself inside?) Would she have taken it over/sabotaged it, or ended up won over despite herself?
:: Or maybe a role reversal AU, however you feel like you can swing it: how could she have ended up as a runner for Thunder Mountain, in another world? What would Thunder Mountain look like if she'd been in Markus's place? (Better, worse, and somewhere in between are all 100% fair answers!)
:: And I'm definitely here for fix-its, too, however you can manage to involve Theo in them! Either fix-its from Theo's perspective (she succeeds in holding Jeremiah, Kurdy, and Simon until she can get some answers, and her people don't turn on her?), or in general—save Elizabeth? Let the leaders succeed in forging an alliance that can fend off Daniel's forces entirely? Whatever you like!
• Getting Together
:: I can admit that I probably ship Theo the most intensely with Erin, on the strength of That One Conversation in 2.04—I would be thrilled with the tropiest ever accidental domesticity fic where Erin does end up helping Theo through her pregnancy, and they share quarters in Thunder Mountain but it's Just Practical (it's not just practical), and feelings happen. :D Or anything else you're interested in! Theo's pregnancy makes her horny = fuckbuddies? AU where they meet earlier (both captured in Milhaven, maybe)? WINGFIC. Anything!
:: BUT I'm also definitely here for Theo shipped with anybody else! With Markus (intending to manipulate him at first, but oops real feelings)? With Jeremiah (the SASS :D)? With Elizabeth (all the messiness of Simon's death hanging between them, Elizabeth's gentleness-but-strength vs Theo's sharp-edges-but-feelings)? With Kurdy (Theo hitting on him and him always refusing, doubly so after Elizabeth's death, becomes A Thing ... until one day he finally says yes instead)? With Mr. Smith, or Libby—or more of a hatesex thing with Lee Chen? :D
:: And I do want to reiterate that I'm interested in basically anything anywhere along the spectrum of things that could be considered shipfic! Intense UST and pining the POV character is trying to ignore, or banging with or without positive feelings involved, or long luxurious slow burn that ends in a single kiss—and as tropey or not-tropey as you want to get, sex pollen and They Were Roommates or down-to-earth logistics and complications of romance in the apocalypse. :D
• Worldbuilding
:: I am definitely here for pretty much anything you want to use Theo to tell me about the world outside Thunder Mountain! Send her on a roadtrip through all different kinds of communities, or have her talk to the other leaders before or after that meeting about all the different places they come from and all their different concerns ...
:: Or, of course, tell me all about her outsider POV on Thunder Mountain—how it's set up and how it works, after it's opened itself up to the outside world; all the parts Jeremiah and Kurdy didn't see, or at least didn't explore onscreen, since they were busy running around getting into trouble. The social dynamics of a closed community like that, Markus and the Council and how it all looks from another perspective, when Theo's used to the rough-and-tumble of the outside world.
:: Or any other unanswered questions you'd like to poke at! How the rest of the world is doing, if Theo's ever in a position to find out; how Daniel was invented, and how his movement got so much power, or more about Valhalla Sector, about the virus, about the early days during or right after the Big Death. (Which, feel free to handwave the science and focus on people and their reactions/decisions/choices, by all means. :D) Or, heck, Mr. Smith—is he actually hearing God, or not? Is there really any way to tell? (Theo just reacting to his whole deal would be gold, honestly! Five conversations she could have had with Mr. Smith, that add up one way or another to 5k? YES PLEASE.)

It was honestly tough to figure out who to request here, because there are SO MANY THINGS that interest me about this show—but at the end of the day, Cal is my fave, and 5k about her written just for me would be a dream come true. :D So! Missing scenes or episode tags that add up to 5k, backstory adventures or whatever you think should happen next after that RIDICULOUS cliffhanger of a finale? AU where Cal never went to prison, or where she ended up at Orphelin Beach much earlier? Fix-it where NOBODY dies, thank you very much?
I ship basically all the things here, so if you'd like to write me 5k of essentially canon-compliant Cal/Dylan or Cal/Corey, definitely do that—more sex with accidental siren powers involved? All the feelings conversations they didn't get to have during the show? BUT I would also love all the messy power-tripping manipulative Cal/Adrielle ever, or Cal/Augie not-technically-incest-anymore, or Cal/Leandra or Cal/Violca seduction or hatesex. And if you want to delve into more siren lore, or tell me all your headcanons about summonings and water magic and what sirens actually think of their abandoned half-human children, feel free!
I'll admit I'm on a bit of a murder mermaids kick at the moment, and this show fascinated me—there's some pretty soapy twists and turns, and also so much banging. But at the same time it did such an intriguing job with the Tidelanders and their community, its structure and its (sometimes terrifying) rules, the sirens and the Tidelanders' longing for them. The whole show is so appropriately moody and beautiful and kind of wild, and I ended up really loving it. (Even if that finale was ... I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO CALL IT. ??? !!!)
And! I particularly loved Cal. :D Her angsty backstory is so amazing and messed-up in all my favorite ways, and her homecoming is so believably awkward and difficult and painful. ♥ Her journey toward starting to learn some of the secrets that have been kept from her, and starting to understand herself—being able to use her powers, and even wanting to, and the push-pull between enjoying it and being terrified of it ... I LOVED ALL OF IT, and Cal is great, the end.
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
:: So! Anything you'd like to tell me about Cal pre-canon, her childhood while her dad was still alive, not knowing where she'd come from and believing Augie was her brother, her terrible messy relationship with her mother ... Going to prison, adjusting to it, and whether there was a part of her that wasn't sure she'd ever make it out again?
:: Or I would love it if you wanted to expand on canon a little! Give me some missing scenes or episode tags, five conversations Cal might have had and one she definitely didn't; expand on Cal's first visit to Orphelin Beach, or that walk with Adrielle through the site of the Tidelander massacre; or follow up on that moment when she finally has to actually explain out loud to Augie what she is. More adventures in experimenting with her powers and what they can be used for?
:: And I would very much enjoy anywhere you wanted to go post-canon, too. :D More struggles in dealing with Augie's ... business, or trying to survive whatever Adrielle's got in mind next, now that she has in fact succeeded in summoning sirens? If you have an idea that springs directly off the last bit of S1, go for it—but feel free to skip ahead and give me brand-new problems (are the sirens okay with being summoned ... or not so much? What's the fallout among the Tidelanders from everything that's happened?), and only fill in how that scene played out with references from the characters afterward.
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: Man, there are so many points for canon divergence, I hardly know where to start! What if Cal had never gone to prison—if Augie had taken the fall with a false confession, or if she'd fled from the police (and ended up stumbling all the way to Orphelin Beach, maybe)? How else might she have learned what she was?
:: I'd also love 5k of a world in which basically any canonical sequence of events goes differently! What if Dylan had decided to full-on side with Cal over Adrielle earlier? Or if Violca had recruited her in an effort to defy Adrielle sooner? Or if she'd been able to save poor Colton—or met Gilles and Bijou earlier, and Bijou's drawings had helped her guess a few more things that were coming?
:: Or, of course, there's the finale! What if Cal actually had killed Adrielle—how would the rest of the Tidelanders have reacted to her as queen? (I'm equally interested in principled queen Cal who's not going to make people gouge each other's eyes out anymore ... or a darker Cal who starts to indulge the part of her nature that enjoyed making a man helplessly drown himself. :D) On the fix-it end of things, by all means let her succeed in forcing Corey's blood back inside him and keeping his heart beating, in the morgue; or let Dylan leave Adrielle to die and stick with Cal instead; or let her save Bijou and Augie, dammit!
• Getting Together
:: I absolutely ship Cal with both Corey and Dylan, so feel free to write about either pairing, or both continuing to occur at once in a V, or an actual straight-up poly formation where Corey and Dylan also bang! If you want to play up the whole "queen" thing, and potential additional Tidelander powers, in a femdom way with either or both of these pairings, feel free—or give me the AU where Cal's still a Tidelander but doesn't go to prison, and got together with Corey or Dylan under better circumstances. Or go any other tropey direction you like: do Tidelanders grow secret sex pollen plants? Soulbond to each other, or to humans? Have soulmates? :D
:: But! I'm also weak for incest and pseudo-incest, and Augie and Cal have such a compellingly strong relationship with each other—they trust each other SO MUCH, and that entire rescue + holding each other + Cal confessing to him that she'd made that guy drown and liked it, ffff, MY HEART. So if you'd like to write that, and lean into how weird it is to learn they aren't related but still feel like brother and sister, except oops, maybe not quite that anymore, that would be fantastic. :D
:: AND THEN ALSO I would be delighted to read about fucked-up manipulative Cal/Adrielle (such a UST vibe! Adrielle like half trying to win Cal over and half trying to achieve some kind of control over the potential threat she poses! *_____*), or Cal/Violca where Violca's trying to get someone else to take Adrielle on first so she can step forward in the aftermath (except Cal does better than expected, and suddenly Violca's got to keep her favor instead?), or Cal/Leandra (Leandra finds Cal first in the morgue, not Corey, and there's fightsex? :D).
• Worldbuilding
:: So the sirens are definitely the obvious worldbuilding hook here, and I would LOVE to know whatever headcanon you have about them—the scenes with Adrielle getting a translation of the text on the artifact, and the "historical" legends about the horn and armies of women from the sea, man, it was all such catnip. :D Anything with Cal involved that delves a little deeper into that stuff, the nature of sirens and where they come from (if there are no siren dudes, and when they bang human dudes they dump the babies ... can select Tidelanders be made into full sirens, if the sirens choose to do so? Or is it more mythological—sirens carve new sirens out of stone, or something?), the breaking of that horn and the scattering of the pieces ...
:: But I'd also be stoked with anything that was more focused on the Tidelanders and their community! Everything about how separate they are, how separate they feel, that they don't quite belong on land or in water, the juxtaposition of the desperation some of them feel to reach out for their mothers and the awareness that their mothers abandoned them ... I loved that bit of history/flashback Adrielle shared with Cal, and their social structure and their rules are so interesting (and obviously also kind of creepy/brutal: the eye-gouging, Adrielle's determination to make them all believe they can't have kids with humans, succession among queens). So, yeah. Anything that digs deeper into any part of that would be fantastic!
:: AND THEN ALSO I'd love more specifics about their magic! The water-lock on Adrielle's little basement of surprises was super cool—please tell me all about how it feels to Cal to control water, including the water in blood, and to breathe it. Or to entrance people, for that matter! And then there's Bijou and Genoveva, with their apparent precognition; how does that work? Are there other "extra" talents that some Tidelanders have and others don't? (Can full-blooded sirens see the future even more clearly? Is that why they came to the shore for Cal and not for Adrielle—because they saw that it would be her, and that mattered somehow?)

I dearly, dearly hope you haven't reached this paragraph by reading that entire thing, but if you did, please accept my abject apologies for going on so long! /o\ :D I appreciate your taking on the task of writing me a gift more than I can say, and I hope you have a fantastic Fandom5K. ♥!
If you like long letters, then I hope this one fits the bill and gives you everything you need to get going. :D I'm on the AO3 as
In General
Constantine (2005)
Angela Dodson
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Worldbuilding
Angela Dodson
Dark Matter (TV)
Misaki Han-Shireikan, Nyx Harper/Two | Portia Lin, Three | Marcus Boone/Six | Griffin Jones
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Worldbuilding
Misaki Han-Shireikan
Nyx/Two
I still ship this so hard, help—I love how equally matched they are as fighters, and I love all the parallels between them (that they both were parts of "experiments", in a sense, and that they both managed to escape those experiments and get away from everybody who wanted to use them, and have to figure out who they are and how to live their lives), and also they are both super hot and I am super shallow.
Six/Three
I ship this ridiculously hard also, because I love everything about Three (his douchery! his heart of gold! his denial that his heart of gold is a thing!) and I love everything about Six (his glorious angsty backstory! his betrayals and regrets and desire to always do better!), and all the twists and turns in their relationship with each other just kill me—that they've been at odds so much but also had to rely on each other, and when the chips are down they're crew, aaaaaa.
The Huntsman (movies)
Ravenna/Snow White
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Worldbuilding
Ravenna/Snow White
Jeremiah (TV)
Theo Coleridge
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Worldbuilding
Theo Coleridge
Tidelands (TV)
Calliope "Cal" McTeer
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Worldbuilding
Cal McTeer
