My favorite exchange is back again! \o/
Mar. 24th, 2019 06:24 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
So obviously right off the bat you should be aware that this letter is ridiculously long. APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE. /o\ I've tried to make it as readable and easy to navigate as I can, but please rest assured it's 100% safe to ignore the whole thing and write whatever you like—I do not have any squicks or triggers you need to avoid and I'm more than happy to receive anything you're interested in writing for me (even if it doesn't necessarily fit neatly into one of the genre tags I chose!). My rambling is only here to give you something to work with if you want that—if it won't help or you're bored by it, close the tab guilt-free and do what you please. :D I just love talking about stuff I love, and I get a little carried away! I only hope you have some fun with one of my requests, and a great Fandom5K. ♥
If you do in fact want to peruse my extremely robust ~thoughts about my fandoms, then have at it. :D I mostly use this journal for exchange letters these days, but you can find me on the AO3 at
Damkianna, and you can look back on how well I used the free time I used to have on LJ/DW at
damkianna/
damkianna. Feel free to poke around my movies tag, my books tag, and my TV shows tag for my gradually aging opinions on various pieces of media, which you probably will not even want to think about by the time you're through whatever bits of this letter apply to you.
If you have a lot of time to kill, past letters are in my Yuletide tag, my rarewomen/rarelywritten tag, and my fandom5k tag—if there's a prompt in any of those for one of these fandoms that strikes your fancy, feel free to roll with it even if I don't repeat the prompt below! I basically never lose interest in anything, so whatever might catch your eye, you're good to go. :D (And don't feel bound by any of my old DNWs, by the way!)
In General | Dark Matter (TV) | The Huntsman (movies)
Maleficent (2014) | Sinbad (TV)
If you're not looking forward to slogging through this but you felt obligated to at least click on it, never fear, there is a bottom line: write me anything! Whatever it is you wanted most to write 5k about when you decided to put the fandom we matched on into your offers, DO THAT. I'm interested in stories about these canons and characters any way I can get them—x-of-the-week adventures or canon-divergence AUs, introspective canon-compliance or coffeeshop AU wingfic, porn or angst or h/c, character death or tragedy or horror! Whatever it is you normally want to make sure people have opted into before you give it to them, please consider this me opting into it, and go to town. :D
For this particular exchange, I'm going to divide my prompts up by genre tag, because anything that lets me pretend I'm organized about this is irresistible. BUT the genre tags, and for that matter my prompts more generally, should be considered "some available options" at the absolute most! Please don't feel like my not requesting horror or smut tags means you need to make sure you avoid those things, or like no one can banter because I didn't pick the humor tag, or anything like that. I'm just using them to indicate some broad areas of interest and to help me divide all these teal deer into smaller sub-herds. :D
And while I'm requesting specific pairings in some fandoms and single characters in others, rest assured that I'm interested in and would be thrilled to receive any/all/any combination of:
• gen! Anything you want to write about my requested characters by themselves, or in an ensemble story, would be wonderful—a nice long character study, pre-canon backstory or post-canon futurefic, missing scenes or ep tags that add up to 5k, shenanigans and friendship, platonic h/c, drama or introspection or ANYTHING.
• shipfic! I ship lots and lots of things and am equally here for f/f, f/m, and m/m—background ships of any flavor are more than welcome, poly's more than welcome, and of course I adore any ship I requested specifically, too! (And please don't worry too much about "degree" of shippiness, by the way; I love all these characters and their canonical relationships with each other, and if you find that you've somehow ended up with 5k of pining that even the characters aren't willing to acknowledge, 5k of maybe-gen but it feels shippy to you, 5k of but does it count as shipfic if they don't kiss on-page, 5k of hatesex but they still haven't decided they like each other much—seriously, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. I would love to read any of those things! :D)
• free space! By which I mean anything that I manage to leave off the bingo card, so to speak. Your favorite trope—or your least favorite, inside-out? This one embarrassing iddy idea you've always wanted to write but you need an excuse? Something wacky or unusual that you'd like to try but you're not sure an exchange recip is the right person to throw it at? *grabby hands* GIVE IT TO ME. Weird formats, unusual POVs, non-standard verb tenses—fake documentation, state-mandated ghost-hunting partnerships, IN SPACE! Whatever it is, I'm here for it, no exceptions. :D
Action fic, thinky fic, timeskippy fic! Five things/times that add up to 5k, a batch of missing scenes or what-ifs, a Star-Trek-style mirrorverse AU where everything turned out for the worst! 5K OF YOUR HEADCANONED WORLDBUILDING DRESSED UP IN A FIC SUIT. Whatever it is you'd like to write me 5k of in any of these fandoms, I'm looking forward to it, and I'm so glad you're giving it to me! ♥
back to top
Honestly I would love to read basically any story you want to tell me about any combination of these characters! An x-of-the-week adventure that just has a vague nod toward either of the pairings I chose somewhere in the background would make me as happy as 5k of 100% no-holds-barred ship-centric smut—or 5k of gen about Misaki being terrible and scheming and stabbing people in the back. :D Feel free to set it at any point you like, too: Three and Six still getting to know each other in S1? Nyx trying to work out what the hell the deal is with these people in S2? An AU about what might have happened if Misaki's coup had been successful? Post-S3 futurefic? ANYTHING.
If you would like to "fix it" at any point, that would be fantastic: what if Six hadn't sold them out to the GA at the end of S1 (or had had second thoughts and warned them the GA was coming)? What if Two had been the one on the bridge when Misaki came looking—and of course Two's nanites could probably neutralize that poison, y/y? What if Six is still alive and just got thrown to the other side of that rift, and Three's determined to get him back from those damn blob-aliens? BUT you should also feel free to break my heart with deathfic, or use any trope you love to get a ship together (a trip to an alternate timeline where their other selves are married? rescues and h/c? sex pollen?). And 5k of worldbuilding about synthetics, galactic and/or corporate politics, or what the blob-aliens' home dimension is like would be a delight!
I was never expecting to love this show as much as I do, but I totally do, and I'll probably keep asking for it every chance I get until the heat death of the universe. :D And there are all kinds of things I like about it, from the messiness and the hard choices and the betrayals to the glorious tropiness (AMNESIA. ALTERNATE UNIVERSES WITH DOUBLES. TIME LOOPS. :D), the found family and ensemble feelings, and the humor. SO YEAH. Feel free to go as gritty and painful as you want, or lean into the silliness and handwaved science and affection. It's all good!
I'll read basically anything at all that you want to write me about Misaki! Which absolutely includes canon-compliant fic where she's violent and angry and trying to ruin a lot of people's lives, so no need to worry about pretending otherwise. :D The contrast between the chilliness she shows sometimes and the rage and resentment she clearly feels, all her plots and schemes and her total disinterest in apologizing for them or backing down in any way, I mean, I am all over that!
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
- Pre-canon—Misaki's adventures in the imperial guard? :D What other plots has she encouraged, foiled, or manipulated to suit her own needs? How exactly did she rise up through the ranks to the point where she was the natural replacement for Akita?
- Or serving Hiro, early in the show! What did she think of him? Were there attempts on his life she wanted to let succeed—or chose to stop because that suited her better? Did she ever go looking for Ryo?
- What is it like immediately after Ryo takes power again? What are the repercussions of that scene in the throne room, and how does Misaki manage them? Does she have to plot/scheme/kill anybody to handle objections to Hiro's death/Ryo's ascension?
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
- On the not-necessarily-a-fix-it end of things—what might have happened if Misaki had been the one who ended up on the Raza (while out looking for Ryo, maybe?) and got her mind wiped? What would "Four" have been like then? Would she have wanted her memories back, or not?
- Or if her fight with Nyx had gone a little differently—if she'd been defeated and captured, maybe to use as a bargaining chip against Ryo? What would the crew have done with her? Would she have escaped, or turned on them? Or learned about the aliens, and changed tacks in the face of that kind of threat?
- Fix-it from Misaki's perspective: what if her coup had succeeded, and Two hadn't killed her in the middle of it? Would she genuinely have been in a better position to win the war with Pyr than Ryo was? How would she have handled the corporations, or the blob-aliens?
- Or fix-it from other people's perspective: if she'd lived and Ryo had exiled her for her betrayal ... could she have ended up on the Raza? She's willing to abide people who are useful to her; if her life depended on the crew's forbearance, could she get to the point where she valued them sincerely, or even wanted to help them?
• Getting Together
- Because I'm here for Misaki shipfic, if you're at all interested in writing any! And I define "shipfic" very loosely, because it could easily take way more than 5k for Misaki to be in anything she'd call a relationship—a sequence of altercations that escalate into hatesex, with basically anybody? :D
- Or anything that builds a foundation for shipfic? I would love a story about, say, the slow development of a certain grudging respect between Misaki and empress!Nyx ... or between Misaki and Two, in that universe where Misaki was taken captive by the crew ... or maybe threatening/choking Three a few too many times results in the revelation that he's into that?
- And tbh I would also be over the moon for anything leaning on Misaki's canonical relationships with anybody—romantic or not, how her rivalry with Teku began and escalated, or scenes from her relationship, whatever it may have been, with Ryo's stepmother? Or whatever feelings she had for Ryo, even if they weren't enough to stop her from deciding he was in her way; where could that have ended up (good or bad) in a universe where he did choose her for a consort?
• Worldbuilding
- The big obvious hook here is Zairon, and I'm SO THERE for any imperial space worldbuilding you'd like to do using Misaki—young Misaki and lessons on history/military strategy? Older Misaki and court intrigue? Present-day Misaki and the political situation in the galaxy more generally?
- Or! Anything about Pyr would also be great, since we saw next to nothing of it on the show—has Misaki ever visited any of their worlds/attempted to infiltrate their forces? How did the war start, anyway? (What do Pyr and Zairon tell their people about how it started? Is the truth closer to one or the other, or actually something else entirely?)
- But honestly I'd be thrilled with anything about the universe of Dark Matter that's filtered through Misaki's perspective! What does she know about synthetics, or about androids? (Has Zairon built any, or is augmenting your forces with constructed individuals "dishonorable"?) What was known about the Seers before they arrived and offered their services to Hiro, and what did Misaki think of them? Whatever you can turn into 5k and dress up in a fic suit, I'm there for it. :D
I shipped the hell out of this basically as soon as these two had that little fight scene in prison and then got shut in the sim for "outdoor time" together! It will forever be a tragedy that Nyx died like that, but a) if you'd like to write me 5k dwelling on Two's sad feelings, YOU DEFINITELY SHOULD; and then while I remain thrilled that Two still sort of got to kiss her anyway, I would like some actual kissing, so b) if you'd like to write me 5k of them just alive and happy and making out a lot, that's it, that's the plot, that would also be amazing. :D
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
- Anything you'd like to write about a job-of-the-week/heist-of-the-week, or people-needing-help-of-the-week, whatever it might be, that has Nyx/Two undertones or a Nyx/Two angle (pretending to be married for cover purposes, and having feelings about it? :D Getting in a tight spot and refusing to leave each other behind? :D), would be wonderful!
- Or make the ship a bit more of a focus! I'm easy for h/c and rescues, so anything action-y with Nyx getting nabbed by the Seers and Two charging after her, or Two getting recaptured by Alex Rook and Dwarf Star and Nyx going after her, would be great. :D Or a time loop, but this one gives Two a chance to save Nyx from Misaki and stop Eos-7 from blowing up, if she can just figure out how?
- Or basically any other tropey shenanigans you're interested in, seriously, because the show left the door wide open—amnesia, but this time it's Nyx who's lost her memory? Grieving post-S2 Two encountering a Nyx from an alternate universe (maybe even one who lost her own Two)? Trapped on a zombie apocalypse planet, or in the Marauder, or huddling for warmth? :D
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
- Venture as far from canon as you like: is there a universe where Dwarf Star's interested in the Seers, so Nyx ends up in the same facility as Rebecca? Or a universe where Nyx escaped from them earlier, and Portia Lin picked her up? A universe where Nyx and Portia Lin had a thing but it was weird and messed-up, and then Nyx runs into this woman who's totally Portia but claiming not to remember anything ... except Nyx can't predict her anymore, because all her "data" was on Portia, so maybe it's true after all?
- Or branch off anywhere in canon itself! If Nyx had been able to rescue Milo after all—could the two of them together have seen what was coming, and done something about it? If Four had told Nyx he was thinking about taking his imprint back, would she have had the data to guess what would happen? If she'd never escaped the Seers at all, would Ryo have wanted to keep her for himself even if he still killed the rest of them? Could Two have found her there, and freed her?
- On the fix-it end of things, obviously I'd be thrilled if you wanted to specifically save Nyx, any which way that works for you! Could the android have downloaded her/taken an imprint the way they did with Sarah? Or gotten there fast enough to intercede (presumably poison intended for biological organisms doesn't have much of an effect on her)? Or if Nyx had accepted Ryo's offer ... and then contacted Two secretly from Zairon, to coordinate stealing back the blink drive or sabotaging his fleet?
• Getting Together
- Set a get-together at any point you like: while they're still in prison (passing time in that sim turns into something more?) or after, or even in S3—you don't have to walk me through whatever saved Nyx, just have her alive and well and write me futurefic about her helping Two find her daughter! Or lean into it: could Two use her nanites to heal Nyx, except they have to stay in physical contact for it to work? *waggles eyebrows*
- I'm equally here for slow build that's just starting to get somewhere in 5k ... or sex pollen/huddling for warmth/Two's looking for a new fuckbuddy and Nyx wants to get Four off her mind, and maybe it's only convenience or maybe not. :D Anything where they're helping each other deal with canonical events or their aftermath would be great, as would anything that's just sort of "in S2 somewhere" and oops, they got locked in the Marauder somehow.
- And just to be clear, I really am here for any level of shippy feelings—from Two pining silently for Nyx while Nyx is still struggling with her feelings for Four-except-he's-Ryo-now, to 5k of the most intense UST you can manage, even if they never actually touch or kiss on-page. Or 5k of the filthiest porn you've got up your sleeve! (Nyx does take that Shadow Devon gave her ... and starts having longer and more detailed premonitions, which happen to be of banging Two into next Tuesday? :D)
• Worldbuilding
- I'm here for any sort of Nyx-centric worldbuilding angle you'd like to take on, whether it's all the headcanon you ever developed about the Seers based on that little snippet of backstory we got, or a rundown of all the data about the state of the galaxy she still has in her head after having it fed to her in their machines. Or anything that leans on what it's like for her on a day-to-day basis, the things she does see and the things she doesn't—whether having a guess about what's coming makes some things about her relationship with Two easier, and others harder?
- Or! Anything about Two/Portia/Rebecca, using stuff we learned in S3 or based off your own speculation back in S2. What being synthetic feels like to her—before and after that nanite upgrade? What it was like being possessed by that blob-alien; whether it used Nyx's likeness to interact with her, the same way we saw an alien use the crew's likenesses to talk with Three (is that creepier in a universe where Nyx is dead and Two knows this isn't her, or in a universe where Nyx made it to S3?). I would love for you to lean into the body horror aspects of being possessed like that—was she watching herself do it all, or trapped inside her own head with no idea what's going on?
- And of course I'd be happy with anything from canon-compliant futurefic that references Two's feelings for Nyx somewhere but is mostly about the alien invasion ... to an AU where the android did take an imprint of Nyx after all, and Two builds her a new android body with all your headcanon about how that would work/what it would feel like/android capabilities and experiences, and nothing hurts. :D
This happened because I love everything about Three (his douchery! his heart of gold! his denial that his heart of gold is a thing!) and I love everything about Six (his glorious angsty backstory! his betrayals and regrets and desire to always do better!), and all the twists and turns in their relationship with each other just kill me—that they've been at odds so much but also had to rely on each other, and when the chips are down they're crew, aaaaaa. (Also that scene in the facility with the alien rift where Three's panicking and basically climbing Six like a tree, and Six reluctantly holds him still so he can be sedated, jeeeeeesus. *____*)
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
- Seriously, set this anytime you like—I'm as interested in Three and a Six who thinks he used to be Griffin Jones, or just found out about his real identity as Kal and the GA, as in S2 Six trying to earn back Three's trust, or S3 Three with all his blob-alien-related trauma having to rescue Six from the blob-alien dimension!
- Trap them on a planet together? Force them to rescue each other? Get Three arrested by the GA, so Six has to go undercover as himself to get him out, and Three assumes it's just that he betrayed them again! ;-; Or maybe they have to pretend to be married for ~reasons, or Six stays stuck in that simulation and Three has to actually go in there and convince him it's not real, or or or. :D
- I'm also extremely weak for people being forced to hurt each other as part of a cover, and also for self-sacrifice attempts, so pretty much anything where Three's trying hard to throw himself on a grenade but Six won't let him, or Six and Three run into people who knew Marcus Boone and discover that "Kal" is ex-GA and are expecting Three to beat Six up (and Six does let him ;-;), would be spectacular!
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
- What might have happened if either one of them had accidentally gotten re-imprinted with their memories during S1? Or both of them (Kal aware that he's GA and undercover! Boone watching him all the time, not sure why Portia hasn't killed him yet!)?
- Or if Six had been the one who'd gotten implanted with that blob-alien in S2? Or if he hadn't left the ship during that chunk of S3 (or had, but Three had opted to go with him as grudging backup :D)? Or go back a lot further: if Kal had never gone undercover, how else might he have encountered the crew, and Three, eventually? Or if Marcus Boone had stayed with Tanner's gang instead of joining up with Portia?
- Or, of course, fix it: the S3 finale didn't necessarily kill Six, but it easily could have—so tell me all about the future where it didn't and he's just stuck in the wrong dimension! Does Three end up linked to some more aliens, and "see" him there? Or go back and fix something else—what if Six had never betrayed the crew to the GA in the first place, at the end of S1?
• Getting Together
- There's honestly nothing I wouldn't read about these guys, so any get-together trope you love would be A++! Trapped in a confined space? Accidental telepathy (maybe Three's exposure to the aliens + Six's exposure to the aliens = oops, mindlink)? Sex pollen? :D
- Also that episode where they were stuck in the Marauder together, with Three still pissed off and Six trying to talk it out, was gold—if you'd like to roll with that but bring it to a pornier conclusion, that would be amazing. *_____*
- And of course, as noted, I love Three getting himself beaten up for stupid reasons, and also Six being badass and heroic ... or Six getting himself beaten up for noble reasons and Three bitching him out for it but also helping him! So anything with h/c and arguing about ethics and being reluctantly into each other for 5k, I mean, I'm so there. :D
• Worldbuilding
- The aliens! If you'd like to tell me more about what it feels like to be taken over by them, what the "presence" of that rift was like and whatever leftover traces of their presence still stick, from Three's perspective, please do!
- Or, of course, if you're interested in rolling with "Six trapped on the wrong side of the rift"—what is it like there? What is left, once the blob-aliens are done consuming all the energy in a universe? How do they organize themselves as a society? (They've got ships; does that mean those ships have captains? Engineers? How do they conceptualize whatever roles they've got?)
- Or focus in on S3 Six and his attempts to organize the independent colonies! How many are there, anyway, and what are some of the problems they face in forming an alliance that the show didn't get into? How did Six manage to talk them into coming to the table at all? Seriously, I will devour as much made-up space politics as you're interested in writing me. :D
back to top
First things first: while these two movies are treated as a group by the fandom tag, I want to be clear that you definitely DO NOT need to have seen Winter's War to write me the Ravenna/Snow White fic of my dreams! You should use whatever bits of either or both movies that you like, and feel free to ignore the rest. During SWatH with no references to any Winter's War backstory stuff, or post-SWatH and totally ignoring Winter's War, is just as welcome as during or after Winter's War or referencing that canon. No worries!
BUT ANYWAY. I ship this so hard it's kind of ridiculous, and I'd love anything you'd like to write me about these two! A new curse falls on the kingdom, and Snow White knows her best chance is someone with magical skill, so she's got to retrieve Ravenna from the lands of the dead? Or where Snow White realizes Ravenna's not dead at all, but inside the mirror, and manages to get her back out? AU where Ravenna remained queen of another land, and met the princess Snow White a different way? (Political marriage = A++. :D) Or maybe Ravenna misunderstood that whole "heart" thing, and whatever ritual she performs when she does capture Snow White soulbonds them instead? Anywhere you'd like to take this, with post-canon quests and fairytale magic, would be wonderful!
I love these movies to a degree that's totally disproportionate to their quality, but they're just so striking and dramatic and I could watch them on a loop all day long. :D And of course I've received some really fantastic gifts for them before, but I'm much too greedy to stop asking! The aesthetics, the fairytale trappings, all the weird creepy-beautiful magic—and, of course, a dark and powerful queen obsessed with a steadfast and good-hearted princess, because y e s. !!! I couldn't even tell you which I like better—Ravenna in all her gleaming murderous raven-feathered rage, or Snow White in that shining silver armor, good but not soft, gentle but not weak, determined to win back her kingdom. Also they canonically kissed, even if Snow White didn't know it was Ravenna when it happened! I mean, what am I supposed to do with that?
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
- I would love love love more adventures in the same general mold as either or both movies. :D Even a reference to Ravenna/Snow will satisfy me, too, so please feel free to write about post-movie Queen Snow White with a new quest to undertake, remembering/thinking about/dreaming of Ravenna—you definitely don't need to resurrect Ravenna to make me happy!
- ... But if you did want to bring Ravenna back/remove her from the mirror, I definitely wouldn't mind! What might Snow White need to do, to get her out again without going mad? Would she be tempted to leave Ravenna imprisoned in there? Find a way to get in and out herself, and talk to Ravenna? (Who I'm sure would be thrilled to see her, and also would probably try to kill her again. /o\ :D) Or discovering she needs to retrieve Ravenna from the dead—seriously, lean into your favorite fairytale, east of the sun and west of the moon, walking in iron shoes until they fall off your feet, go wild!
- Or maybe some kind of magical accident resurrects Ravenna—would she try to hide herself from Snow White, or disguise herself and walk right back into Snow White's court? (Would she want Snow White's help to die again, even—and if she did, would Snow White agree to, or not?) Might she have amnesia, or be cursed, and need to set out on a quest of her own to undo it? Or be forced to reluctantly accept Snow White's equally reluctant offer to help her?
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
- On the "not so fix-it" end of things, or, like, fix-it as far as Ravenna's concerned but not for anybody else: feel free to lean into the horror elements of these movies and write me the story where Ravenna wins—cuts Snow White's heart out and eats it, and rules a deathless empire (but starts seeing Snow White in the mirror? Dreaming of her? Or is haunted by her, and can't forget about her?). :D
- BUT rest assured I'd also be thrilled with a story where things go sideways a little earlier! What if Ravenna had stayed disguised as William for longer than she did, and traveled with Snow White and the huntsman much further than she intended to? (I love love love slow burn and unwillingly starting to ~feel things~ about people you ostensibly hate. LOVE IT. :D) Or if Snow White had realized something was off—if they'd been able to take Ravenna prisoner somehow? Any excuse for lots of Ravenna taunting Snow White and Snow White learning to see through it, basically. :D
- Or branch off earlier still! If Ravenna had been busy ruling a kingdom of her own, rather than looking for a new one to take over—would she still have learned about Snow White from the mirror, when Snow White came of age? Gone looking for her then, and insisted on her hand in marriage or tried to seduce her away to steal her heart? (I'm also extremely weak for "fucking someone for ~reasons but then feelings happen to you along the way, oops". Just FYI. :D)
• Getting Together
- Obviously there's a lot of antagonism and unpleasantness to deal with here, so please rest assured that in 5k I don't necessarily expect you to get further with these two than "creepy UST and a lot of intense staring"! I'll adore anything that rolls with Ravenna's canonical obsessiveness and cruelty, with unstated or understated attraction underneath it somewhere. *____*!
- BUT if you're up for it, I would also love anything you'd like to write me where they manage to get a little further than that: hatesex? Ravenna deciding to seduce Snow White to her side (JUST FOR EASIER ACCESS TO HER UNARMORED BODY, YOU UNDERSTAND) and succeeding? Or finding it more difficult and yet also more rewarding than she'd anticipated? :D
- Or, of course, give me 5k of the beginnings of slow-burning their way toward something genuinely romantic? I love love love stories about recovery, stories about people who think they're unforgivable but they're wrong—anything where Ravenna has, even a little tiny bit, even despite herself, started to work her way toward her own happy ending and toward a point where she's able to find herself genuinely in love with Snow White, would be amazing!
- And I'm here for any ridiculous tropey scenario you'd like to use here, too: arranged marriages? Soulbonding? (Because the one thing that could stop Ravenna from killing Snow White is realizing it would kill her too, maybe.) Accidental telepathy? Magic going unexpectedly wrong could take them so many places—amnesia or time loops (Ravenna kills Snow White a hundred times, but keeps waking up that same day anyway, until at last she's so desperate she has to try something else? :D), transformations or curses, and of course true love's kiss, as long as we're in the middle of a fairytale!
• Worldbuilding
- On Ravenna's end of things, I'm here for any and all worldbuilding you want to do relating to any part of her life—other kingdoms she's conquered or ruled, legends that have risen up in her wake and names she's been given? Does she miss other places she once ruled, people or things; art, music, stories, so old no one else remembers they once existed? Backstory with Finn and/or Freya, where their magic comes from and how they discovered their talent for it, whether she studied it or stole it or just gradually learned to use it, the first time she did anything deliberate with it or killed anyone with it or burst apart into a flock of crows and flew away. ANYTHING.
- Or! On Snow White's end, I am FASCINATED by the stuff about the true king/queen, their apparent connection to the health and bounty of the land they rule—anything about what that means, the history of that connection, how it feels to Snow White (whether she can tell, whether the land dying under Ravenna's rule hurt, or frayed that connection when she was only just starting to realize it was there), whether there are ways to strengthen it, whether as queen at last it's essential that she go down to the fields and shove her hands in the dirt sometimes. :D
- Honestly, pretty much anything about this universe that you'd like to write about would be my jam—foreign relations, under King Magnus or Ravenna or Queen Snow White, or alliance-building afterward; relations between species, historically or under Snow White's rule, given that we definitely see dwarves and trolls and fairies. (That Snow White says the Lord's Prayer, but this is a land where magic is real and the white hart appears to her is FASCINATING to me, so if you'd like to speculate on the functions of a Christian-like church in a place that's clearly soaked with other powers, please feel free—or ignore it and focus on magic! EITHER WOULD BE EXCELLENT.)
I'm weak for fairytales in general, and also weak for retellings and AUs, stories getting shown to me from new perspectives—and Angelina Jolie, as a rule. :D The whole dynamic here with Maleficent so understandably bitter, and Aurora so blithely kind to her and not afraid of her at all, hurt by everything she's withheld but also willing to forgive her for it, was 100% my jam even BEFORE true! love's! kiss! So, yeah. Anything you'd like to write me that has even the barest hint of shippiness to it would be wonderful!
Which is to say—post-canon adventures of any kind? New curses, new quests, new magical crises that need solving by Queen Aurora and/or an exceptionally powerful fairy? Or AU me from any point you please: what if Aurora had grown up in the palace with Stefan and Leila? How might she and Maleficent have met then? What if the war had ended a little differently, and the treaty had required Stefan to marry his daughter to the shieldmaiden of the Moors? :D And of course anything that delves into the nature of the Moors, parts of it we weren't shown or rules it has that Aurora discovers as its new queen, other realms she needs to deal with or alliances she needs to worry about, or the day-to-day struggles to manage nobles used to dealing with her father, would be fantastic!
So if you've browsed my other requests you're already aware that the whole "dark and powerful queens and the lovely pure-hearted princesses they can't look away from" is kind of a thing with me! And the Maleficent movie was such a perfect example and so, so good to my id, and I loved it. :D I also love creepy magic that can be as beautiful as it is dangerous, and stories about people who've been badly hurt and want to hurt other people in return—or at least they think they do—and stories about redemption and forgiveness and *waves hands* LOVE SAVING THE DAY, all that stuff. So, yeah, pretty much anything you'd like to write me about these two and this movie will make my day!
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
- I'd love anything set during the movie that dips into some of the timeskips in there—the first time Maleficent let Aurora come to the Moors awake the whole time, or any of Aurora's visits there, could so easily result in magical mishaps of some kind, Aurora accidentally getting herself into some trouble and needing Maleficent to come to the rescue, and Maleficent disconcerted by her own willingness to do exactly that! (For the record, any sort of nod to Maleficent juuuuust starting to maybe develop some feelings for a nearly-sixteen-year-old Aurora is more than enough shippiness for me, in this case.)
- Or! Post-movie adventures, Queen Aurora dealing with conflicts between her two kingdoms—opening the borders like that after so long so strictly separated has got to generate some problems! What kinds of magical mishaps, difficulties, or even curses result? Or are there parts of the Moors that aren't all that thrilled about having a human guardian/queen? Any sort of h/c—or Maleficent interceding and getting herself cursed as a result, and Aurora having to figure out what to do about it—would be AMAZING. :D
- Or, of course, go the other direction with it: are interactions with other human kingdoms a little complicated with the Moors and Maleficent at Aurora's shoulder? Does anybody out there want some of that magical power for themselves, or have a grudge against Maleficent or the Moors in general? Or does Aurora need to prove herself to her father's court—go on a quest, retrieve a magical artifact, undergo a trial? Is Maleficent allowed to help her, or not? (Might she try anyway—or disguise herself and go along to keep an eye out, even if she's not interceding directly?)
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
- I'd love to see something set in a universe where Aurora was never spirited away, and grew up with Stefan—presumably Maleficent and/or Diaval would still have tried to keep an eye on her somehow? Or might she have found them instead: discovered Maleficent's wings, trapped inside the castle, and taken it on herself to go on a quest to return them to the fairy they'd been taken from? (Would Maleficent assume this was just Stefan's daughter trying to play a cruel trick?)
- By all means give me 5k of the fix-it universe where peace is settled between the Moors and Stefan's kingdom ... because he agrees to marry his daughter to the winged shieldmaiden of the Moors. *_______*! I adore arranged marriages/marriages of convenience, especially with a side of wildly differing cultural expectations! (What's entailed in the concept of "marriage" in the Moors? Or is Maleficent unfamiliar with the whole idea, agreeing to it just because it seems to be important to humans?)
- Or, of course, 5k of some totally non-fix-it universes—what if Aurora hadn't managed to find the wings, and Maleficent had been taken prisoner? What if the fairies had managed to do their job a bit better, and Maleficent had never gotten to know Aurora, had felt her curse take effect and had been glad? (Grim coldhearted Maleficent idly admiring the dead princess's beauty at her funeral = shippy enough for me, IF ALSO UTTERLY HEARTBREAKING. ;-;)
- Or if the war had ended some other way, if Stefan had never crossed the border at all. Would the Moors' borders simply have been closed and never reopened, and gradually forgotten entirely on the human side? Until—maybe—a curious princess happened to ride a bit too far into the forest one day ... :D
• Getting Together
- I ship this so hard it's ridiculous, and I'll read basically anything about it (though I do prefer that Aurora be at least sixteen!). Post-canon—does Aurora ever learn what happened while she was asleep? Does she know it was Maleficent who kissed her awake—or does she begin to suspect it over time? Does Maleficent have every intention of retiring away to some far corner of the Moors ... except Aurora asks her for help with things and she keeps sticking around a few more days? Or does Aurora track her down and keep visiting her, even though she was silently expecting Aurora's attention to her to taper off and stop?
- ... Honestly just about anything that really wallows in the idea that Maleficent totally adores Aurora and expects next to nothing—feels she deserves next to nothing—in return, and then it turns out Aurora couldn't agree less and cares just as deeply about Maleficent's happiness, will punch me right in the heart. I love pining SO MUCH. :D
- Or! Get all magical and tropey on me! There's got to be a sex pollen tree in the Moors, right? Or do fairies perhaps soulbond? Might some exceptionally powerful and unexpected magic render Maleficent unable to lie? Did crowning Aurora that way accidentally give the land of the Moors itself the impression that she's Maleficent's wife, and it keeps, you know, growing honeymoon bowers overnight at them and giving Aurora presents? :D
- Or get all whumpy and tropey on me. :D In an AU where Stefan didn't stop at cutting Maleficent's wings off, might a queen Aurora be presented with or discover an imprisoned fairy locked away somewhere in the castle behind a lot of iron—and be horrified, and much more solicitious than Maleficent expected? (I also love h/c and recovery fic. :D)
• Worldbuilding
- Anything that digs a little deeper into Maleficent and her relationship with the Moors would be wonderful! Why is she so much more powerful than the other fairies? Something to do with the tree? There seems to be some kind of intrinsic connection between her and the Moors, given that she possesses the authority to crown Aurora like that at the end of the movie—do the Moors always have a guardian, and she was "chosen" to serve that role? Or did she just take that task on herself because she loves the Moors and she has the power to do it?
- Or, frankly, just the Moors in general! How much of it has Maleficent seen, or taken Aurora to see, and how much more is there? How far do its borders extend (if it has them, anyway, and doesn't go on a magically impossible distance)? What is its history? How does the reopening of the border play out? (What intensely weird shit starts showing up in town markets along the human side of the border? :D)
- Or, of course, the human world! I love love love fictional politics, so anything you'd like to tell me that involves other human kingdoms, Aurora suddenly plopped down into the middle of her father's court and needing to learn to follow all the moves and counter-moves and intrigue that's probably going on there, the process of forging alliances or undoing damage done by her father, I mean, I will eat that up with a spoon. *______*!
I adore this tiny canceled show so much, help, and I'd love anything you'd like to write me about it! New adventures with the crew or a canon-style plot (another paying passenger or cargo transport job the Providence takes that goes supernaturally wrong or gets ~complicated somehow, or anybody on the crew ending up in magical trouble they need a little help getting out of) would be great, with as much or as little shippiness in the background as you like! And I'd love an AU branching off from anywhere you please (no storm, in the pilot? Sinbad's parents never died? Or Akbari's son survived that crack on the head?).
Or, of course, focus a little more on getting either of these pairings together! I'd love any shippy trope you want to use, and magical shenanigans leave the door wide open here: amnesia curse? Truth spell? Magic plants with sex pollen? :D Or 5k of pining! I'd also enjoy basically anything Tiger-centric, too: backstory adventures, shipping her with anybody, more bounty-hunting—people she's tracked down, places she's been, with as much or as little worldbuilding as you'd like to do. :D
This show delights me so much, considering how long it took me to even learn that it existed and how long it's been off the air, and I love revisiting its world and its characters any chance I get! The plots are ridiculous, the SFX are kind of iffy, and the ensemble is so much fun—I love how they start out, strangers who don't especially want to be where they are, and the slow process of them all getting to know each other, discovering each other's secrets half by accident and caring about each other kind of despite themselves. ♥ SO YEAH. Anything you'd like to tell me about any of them would be fantastic!
I went into watching the show for the first time anticipating that I would end up shipping this, just because I'd already been given to understand it was a thing—but basically the second Sinbad and Gunnar made eye contact, before Sinbad even knew Gunnar's name, I was like YES THAT. :D They're so different from each other but so similar, too, with everything they're each running from and all the hurts they're ignoring or trying to hide, and I basically can't get enough of them.
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
- I'm so, so weak for rescues and h/c, which is basically at least half the canon plots already. :D Absolutely anything where Gunnar's past starts catching up with him again, where he's forced to struggle with who he used to be, would be fantastic—or anything where Sinbad's past rears its ugly head, running into people who used to know his parents (whether friends or enemies) or his grandmother; emotional hurts, physical hurts, both at once, I LOVE ALL OF IT.
- And, of course, there are so many different ways in which the crew could take on a job that leads to action/adventure! Do they start taking on passengers again, and one of them is, you know, carrying something valuable that someone else is looking for? Or has a price on their head that someone else is hoping to collect? As long as Sinbad and Gunnar are involved in the action somehow, and there's some sort of hint that pining could be happening, this can involve as much or as little of the rest of the ensemble as you like!
- And if you're interested in it, by all means feel free to resolve that #@$% cliffhanger the show ended on—what is it that's possessed or is controlling Alehna, and what does it want with Sinbad? (Whatever it is, I expect Gunnar's got something to say about that. :D) As noted, I love rescues, and I'd adore anything where Gunnar has to go retrieve Sinbad from that city of the dead himself, or break a spell placed on him, or go after someone who's taken him—or gets in the way and gets himself cursed or otherwise in trouble, and it's Sinbad who has to work out how to fix it. :D
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
- Honestly I'd be intrigued by just about anywhere you want to split off, either during canon or anywhere in what backstory we do know. What if Sinbad's father hadn't died? Would he be the emir's court magician, in a completely different Basra? What would Sinbad be like, and how might he and Gunnar still have met? Running across a Northman in the streets of Basra somewhere, or maybe Gunnar could have been hired on as a bodyguard for his family?
- Or if the Providence hadn't encountered that storm in the first episode, and Sinbad had stayed locked up below—would they still have found themselves making friends, slowly, over the course of the journey to the ship's original destination? How would Sinbad have dealt with the curse on his necklace? Or if Gunnar had been tracked down by the Khaima before the show even started, and joined them then—might he have ended up going after Sinbad for the deaths Sinbad has caused?
- Or give me 5k inspired by that alternate universe Sinbad had a vision of: if Gunnar had given up on being a trader before he ever even had a chance to be on the Providence, and had sunk to the point of setting himself up as a ~barbarian fighting in the street—and then one day Sinbad tried to steal from him (or get advice on punching people? Or both!) ...
• Getting Together
- Honestly, anything that dwells on how awful Gunnar feels about his past would be wonderful! I LOVE THAT GUILTY ANGST. /o\ Sinbad getting ensnared in magical difficulties that Gunnar has to, like, quest or sacrifice something to get him out of would also be solid gold. :D BUT I also love this the other way around, with any tropey or magical circumstances that might require Sinbad to be all clever and kind and brash and Sinbad-y to get Gunnar out of a trap/someone's clutches safely. ♥
- And when I say tropey, I mean it: the magic and the settings in Sinbad are so handwavy that you can do almost anything you please! Gunnar's trapped in a time loop! The crew reaches an island covered in sex pollen plants, or literal lotus eaters who manage to enchant Sinbad with visions of an ideal world—and Gunnar has to find a way to convince him it's not real! Sinbad drinks the wrong thing and discovers he can't lie anymore—or maybe that he can't tell the truth? :D
- Or, of course, just any string of quiet easy moments on the ship adding up 5k—five things or five times that make up 5k put together, them getting to know each other better and growing slowly closer. OR LEARNING THEY ACCIDENTALLY GOT MAGICALLY MARRIED ON THIS ONE ISLAND BECAUSE THEY DRANK FROM THE SAME CUP. :D
• Worldbuilding
- Please feel free to tell me anything at all that you would like to make up about what things are like where Gunnar is from, how magic is done or what magical creatures live there, what the Valsgard were and did and what Gunnar saw and did when he left them and traveled aaaaaaall the way to Basra. Places he went through on the way? People he met?
- Or, on Sinbad's side, what daily life consists of in Basra vs on the ship? What kinds of stories his grandmother told him, how much he knows about his father and about magic—and if you want to try to make something coherent out of the emir "supporting science" and not magic, when that happened and why, be my guest! :D
- And for the record, I don't feel strongly about being 100% canon-compliant here, or 100% compliant with any word-of-god stuff you're familiar with. And obviously you also should feel no pressure to be compliant with actual history, either, because a) the show sure didn't and b) this is a setting where magic is real! Like, feel free to base any worldbuilding on the real world/actual history, but also don't feel like you need to do exhaustive research or anything, because *waves hands* it is SINBAD.
I'm so easy for their princess/thief dynamic it's unreal—they're so prickly with each other at first, and they clearly don't get along easily, and yet by the time Nala leaves the ship I feel like they've genuinely started to care about and respect each other, and I love that kind of slow build so, so much. :D So anything that leans into their arguments and differences, how much trouble they have understanding each other's attitudes, would be fantastic!
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
- Always here for Rina getting herself or others into trouble by taking things that don't belong to her, or touching magical objects when she shouldn't! :D Or, of course, anything to do with Nala and her status, people trying to kidnap her or marry her and Rina ready to throw a wrench in the middle of it.
- Feel free to write something set between episodes, when Nala's still on the ship! Does the crew agree to find something for someone, except it turns out to need stealing, and then Rina gets caught—and Nala has to do something about it? (Pretends to be a noblewoman tracking down a troublesome servant, or looking for this thief who stole something from her, too?)
- Or set this post-canon, and get Nala back on the ship or the crew back in Basra any way you like! Do they head back to visit her only to find out that something's happened to her, someone's nabbed her or enspelled her and they need to get her back/break it? Or does Death come after Nala a second time, and Rina's got to steal her away?
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
- Honestly, I would LOVE something that's just straight-up 5k of Nala staying on the Providence—or the crew (or even just Rina) choosing to stay with her in Basra to help get Taryn's mess cleaned up and put things to rights. ♥ (And of course that could easily go wrong, given whatever magical residue might have been left behind by those shadows, or the doors Taryn opened to let them into the city ...)
- BUT I would also be 100% there for any other variation branching off from any earlier point: Nala and Rina meeting in Basra, before Nala and her father have even decided they need to leave the city on the Providence—because she'd totally have tried to steal from them, too, y/y? Or Rina, still a slave, is bought by Nala's father to look after his daughter while they're in Basra?
- Or the Providence never encounters that storm, again, but this time with the focus on Rina and Nala—Rina can't hide below forever! How might they encounter each other? Would Nala notice things going missing, food and jewelry and the like, and track down the thief? Or if Death had married Nala after all, her father unable to get her away in time, how might the queen of the land of the dead encounter Rina? (Rina nearly dies a few times, and she's so annoying Nala lets her live each time instead of keeping her—or at least it starts out that way?)
• Getting Together
- Anything that captures any part of the transition from them rubbing each other the wrong way real bad to being friends and crewmates (who still argue) and MAKING OUT SOMETIMES would be wonderful! This would be an AWESOME fuckbuddies-to-lovers pairing, if you're interested in that at all—Rina trying to find a way to sort of have something on Nala, to have something Nala wants even if it's just sex, and then it turning into something else on her unexpectedly. :D
- Or just something focused on the two of them, where they have to work together to save the rest of the crew, with hints that it could develop into more! THAT'S FINE TOO. Rina gets magicked so everyone's acting like they're in love with her, and only Nala seems unaffected! Something removes Nala from everybody's memories, and she hadn't realized exactly how much Rina trusted her until it stops! *________*
- I know I'm mostly just throwing lists of tropes at you at this point, but, seriously, TROPES. Huddling for warmth? Handcuffed together? Accidentally magically bound and sharing emotions? Rina having to teach Nala how to steal—or Nala having to coach Rina through pretending to be a noblewoman? Trapped together and forced to rely on each other! ANYTHING. :D
• Worldbuilding
- Aaaaaanything you'd like to fill in about Nala's country and her people, about Death (was that actually Death in 1.04? Or was him not knowing Nala hadn't cried an indicator that that was a trickster of some kind pretending to be Death?), about her mother, about her flight to Basra with her father, would be great!
- And Rina and her awful backstory, oh, the delicious angst! Anything you have in mind about where she's from, what her parents were like and why they sold her ("because they were desperate" and "because they were awful" are equally acceptable answers!), how she ended up in Basra and what places she passed through/experiences she had on the way there, would be wonderful.
- And anything else you'd like to delve into involving either or both of them—how magic works where they're from vs what they've seen of Taryn or Sinbad's grandmother's curse, the differences in the cities they came from and the clothes, the food (Rina and her goulash! Nala and her jewelry!). Legends they each know and end up comparing, if they're placed in a situation that reminds each of them of totally different stories! Whatever you can find an excuse to fit into a fic, I would love to read about it. :D
I was so bummed about Nala leaving the ship that I honestly wasn't sure at all how I would feel about Tiger—but I LOVED her, aaaaa, all her bounty-hunting and badassery and raised by tigers, amazing. :D (Which, for the record, I'm given to understand it's word of god that she wasn't actually raised by tigers; whether you'd like to roll with her being the kind of person who'd tell people that with a straight face anyway, or you'd like to ignore it and give her a tiger family, EITHER WAY I'm so into it. WHATEVER YOU LIKE.)
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
- ALL THE BOUNTY-HUNTING STORIES. What series of events got her into that business in the first place? Who else has she tracked down, and why was there a price on their head—what had they done? Has she ever not found someone (or deliberately let a target go)? How did she come to Taryn's attention? (Did Taryn know about her connection to Brother Angelico and the monastery all along, and set her up to join Sinbad's crew, or was that pure coincidence?)
- And! Speaking of Brother Angelico, what experiences did she have with him that led them to like and trust each other so much—and how does a monk end up knowing the way to the Land of the Dead? Was Tiger with him for that particular adventure, or did they go on another where the details about that came to light? (Has anyone come looking for Brother Angelico before because he knows the way?)
- Or, of course, any canon-style adventure you'd like that's focused on Tiger, whether it's that she's the one who's in trouble for once, or her coming to everybody's rescue! I love love love characters who have kind of a tough lone-wolf thing going on ending up needing to grudgingly accept other characters' care and assistance ... but I would also adore anything where Tiger gets to be extremely competent and badass, because she is also definitely that. :D
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
- What if she'd met the crew earlier? Might Nala and her father have hired Tiger on as a bodyguard, and brought her on the Providence with them? (... Tiger/Nala = YES PLEASE, by the way!) How would she have dealt with some of the earlier events, the storm and the water-thieves, or the mid-season crisis with the shadows in Basra? What might have gone better with her around, and what might have gone worse?
- Or maybe someone else might have hired her to track down Gunnar, wanting revenge for something he'd done while he was in the Valsgard? Would the crew have caught her in the attempt and managed to take her prisoner? Or would she have succeeded, and they'd have had to go after her trying to get Gunnar back?
- Or if she'd tried to get close enough to catch Sinbad another way—by pretending she was down on her luck and wanted to join the crew, or needed passage? (And then she'd MEANT to grab him, she really had, but there wasn't a good moment, and then she got to know everyone ... Did I mention I like tropes, and also found family? :D)
• Getting Together
- Obviously I'm not expecting shipfic from you, since I nominated Tiger by herself. But! If you happen to be interested in writing shipfic about Tiger and ... pretty much anyone, honestly, I would definitely be thrilled about that. :D
- Any way you'd like to AU things, or any direction you'd like to go post-canon, such that Nala and Tiger get to meet? I would be SO THERE for it, even if it doesn't necessarily make it all the way to Nala/Tiger. :D And of course Rina/Tiger would be fantastic, too—I can imagine that it takes kind of a while for them to start trusting each other, because they're both loners by habit; but anything where they get to know each other and start to connect a little bit and maybe share their abandonment issues would be a delight!
- If you'd like to follow up on the show's hints and roll with Tiger/Sinbad, that would be more than okay with me! I also have a big soft spot for the idea of Tiger/Anwar (she's so cool! He's kind of a failboat, but definitely does have his own skill set! Also I love the idea that she's used to thinking of him as a useless dweeb, but he gets unexpectedly determined about looking after her various wounds when she gets into fights, and it turns into a thing). Or Tiger/Gunnar! Badass loners better at hitting things than talking about them! \o/
• Worldbuilding
- THE WORLD'S YOUR OYSTER. As noted, IIRC she's a warlord's daughter, left in the wilderness to die, and found by someone rather than raised by tigers—I would be happy for you to run with that and tell me more about where she came from (does she know, and ever try to go back to confront her father/the rest of her family?), or to totally ignore that and tell me how confusing she sometimes finds humans, where her tigers live and how she came to leave them behind, whether she ever plans to go back.
- Or the bounty hunting! Anything about previous jobs she's taken on, the people she's found and the circumstances she's found them in, places she's gone and things she's seen—it's every excuse to lean into any aspect of worldbuilding in this universe that interests you! (And seriously, as I've mentioned elsewhere, feel free to use as much or as little historical info as you please; Sinbad's world clearly differs from history on all kinds of levels, so you can use anything that works for you or make everything up, or anywhere in between.)
- Or basically anything else you can think of that suits your fancy! How much does she know about magic and how it works? Who did she learn the trade of bounty-hunting from—or has she just had to figure it out for herself? WHAT DOES SHE USE TO DYE HER HAIR LIKE THAT. :D Favorite foods, favorite clothes, how she set up her living space on the Providence, anything goes.

I can only hope you didn't get this far because you read through that whole thing! BUT IF YOU DID, please let me take the opportunity to apologize yet again. /o\ :D With any luck, it wasn't too boring and had at least a few things in it that will actually prove useful to you. ♥ Have a blast writing me whatever you want, and I hope you receive a fantastic gift yourself! ♥
If you do in fact want to peruse my extremely robust ~thoughts about my fandoms, then have at it. :D I mostly use this journal for exchange letters these days, but you can find me on the AO3 at
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
If you have a lot of time to kill, past letters are in my Yuletide tag, my rarewomen/rarelywritten tag, and my fandom5k tag—if there's a prompt in any of those for one of these fandoms that strikes your fancy, feel free to roll with it even if I don't repeat the prompt below! I basically never lose interest in anything, so whatever might catch your eye, you're good to go. :D (And don't feel bound by any of my old DNWs, by the way!)
In General
Dark Matter (TV)
Misaki Han-Shireikan, Nyx Harper/Two | Portia Lin, Three | Marcus Boone/Six | Griffin Jones
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Worldbuilding
Misaki Han-Shireikan
Nyx/Two
I shipped the hell out of this basically as soon as these two had that little fight scene in prison and then got shut in the sim for "outdoor time" together!
Six/Three
This happened because I love everything about Three (his douchery! his heart of gold! his denial that his heart of gold is a thing!) and I love everything about Six (his glorious angsty backstory! his betrayals and regrets and desire to always do better!), and all the twists and turns in their relationship with each other just kill me—that they've been at odds so much but also had to rely on each other, and when the chips are down they're crew, aaaaaa.
The Huntsman (movies)
Ravenna/Snow White
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Worldbuilding
Maleficent (2014)
Aurora/Maleficent
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Getting Together, Fix-it Fic, Worldbuilding
Sinbad (TV)
Gunnar/Sinbad, Nala/Rina, Tiger
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Worldbuilding
Gunnar/Sinbad
Nala/Rina
Tiger

Date: 2020-03-30 02:15 am (UTC)At any rate, thank you for inadvertently recommending the fandom. I checked it out because of you letter, and I, too, shipped it from the second they first made eye contact. Sinbad always looks so THIRSTY whenever Gunnar gets his sword out and kicks ass. Open-mouthed, heaving arousal. It gets me every time. And the mutual loyalty! It's a great ship. <3

Date: 2020-03-30 03:12 am (UTC):D Appropriately enough, I first got into it because someone else's exchange requests for it caught my eye! So it's great to think I could pay that forward and snare somebody new, haha. And you're making me want to rewatch the show immediately, bless—Sinbad is SO thirsty, and they care about each other SO MUCH, and that's beautiful. ;-;
