Ugh, I am not even sick anymore, why am I tired? :P
Sometimes-painful dialogue aside, I am ... intrigued, perhaps, is the word? Belle and Rumpelstiltskin are the first recognizable story that genuinely failed to work out even before Regina's curse took effect - granted, Hansel and Gretel are supposedly wandering around the fairytale-verse still looking for their father, but they did take out the witch first. Henry's book is the "historical document" of the fairytale world, y/y? Does it seriously relate the tale of Beauty and the Beast ending with the beast kicking Beauty out after she tries to break the curse and he doesn't let her? I suppose it's possible we haven't finished the story yet, but judging by Gold's reaction to Belle's father in Maine-verse, I'm guessing he never saw Belle again after the queen told him she'd killed herself.
I mean, I guess we already knew the book was unorthodox, given that it has bandit!Snow White defeating trolls, but still. Yikes.
Anyway! I am with Belle in spirit, but whoever wrote her lines did it wretchedly and with far too much self-congratulatory awareness, imo; it came out so clunky. D: But I loved the chipped cup (could they have squeezed any more references to the Disney movie in there?), and the curtain thing, and, okay, the fall-down-catch bit was kind of silly, but whatever! It was cute. (I'm kind of a sucker for optimists paired with people who are ... thrown off, at best, by the idea that this tingly sensation might be happiness. Early-season Gabrielle/Xena, I am looking at you.) I assume Rumpelstiltskin is going to be the Draco of this fandom after this ep, if he wasn't already. And at least his manpain is over the loss of a son, instead of a dead/kidnapped/ruinated daughter.
Also, whoever they got to play Gaston, his line delivery was hilarious.
In other news, I accidentally DEVOURED the first two seasons of H2O. I meant to make icons for
halfamoon, but I haven't even gotten through all my caps of the pilot (and already have dozens, but still!). /o\ Failed again! But my auction stories for
seta_suzume and
green_wing are coming along all right, so. At least there's that.

Date: 2012-02-15 04:14 pm (UTC)I still haven't gotten over "I don't want my pain to be erased. As wretched as it is, I need my pain, it makes me who I am. It makes me grumpy."
Someone should be paying these actors bad-script bonuses.

Date: 2012-02-15 04:26 pm (UTC)Oh, god, I think maybe I had blocked that out. /o\ Yeah, that was ... something.
Honestly, I am coming to admire them all more and more just for managing to say their lines with a straight face! I'd never have been able to get some of this stuff out of my mouth without bursting out laughing.
