A new round already! :D

I want to acknowledge right off the bat that this letter's very long, because that's how I roll. You definitely do not need to read it! If you got enough to work with out of my signup details, or you already knew exactly what you wanted to write when you offered one of these fandoms, then close this and go for it. I didn't have any DNWs in my signup and I don't have any hidden in here; you also don't need to worry about trying to make sure you're matching any of my genre tags specifically. I would be thrilled to receive whatever it is you're going to write for me!
I've got this here just in case you're looking for additional thoughts or prompts. I've tried to make it easy to navigate, and you should feel free to skip to whatever sections are relevant to you, skim them for anything that catches your eye, and ignore the rest. But if you're sitting there wishing I'd had a blank signup instead, feel free to pretend that I did! I love these fandoms a lot and I couldn't pass up the excuse to talk about them for literally thousands of words, but that's not your problem unless you want it to be. :D Go ahead and write something you're going to enjoy writing, and have a great Fandom5K! ♥
If you do happen to like long letters, then I hope that this one isn't the exception to the rule, and that it gives you something useful to work with! I'm on the AO3 as
Damkianna. This journal is now mostly exchange letters (in my Yuletide tag, my Fandom5K tag, and my brand-new FFFX tag), but by all means take a look back through it if you like—and if you spot a prompt you love somewhere in one of those letters that's for a fandom I've also requested this year, go ahead and run with it, even if I don't repeat it in this letter! I'm still interested in anything and everything I've ever asked for in my fandoms; and there's no need to abide by any of my old DNWs, either.
In General | Dark Matter (TV) | Motherland: Fort Salem (TV)
Raya and the Last Dragon | Sinbad (TV) | Tidelands (TV)
If you dread long letters, but you felt like you should at least click on this, I promise you there's a bottom line—write me anything! Whatever you were looking forward to getting to write 5k about when you decided to offer the fandom we matched on, by all means go for it. :D I'm interested in any kind of story you'd like to tell me about these canons and characters. An adventure in the same vein as an episode? An AU where everything is different? A sequence of canon-compliant missing scenes that add up to 5k? Or medieval AU secret soulmates in an arranged marriage? Fluff, h/c, porn; angst, horror, whump. Any of it! All of it! Please consider this me opting into whatever you consider opt-in (and whatever you consider opt-out, too, for that matter).
For this exchange, I'm dividing my requests up by genre tag just to have some way to break them down and organize them. And also in case you like the genre tags, and want my thoughts about the specific ones you offered! But I definitely consider them optional, and all my prompts are also optional; they're somewhere to start, not boundaries you need to worry about not crossing. I'd be happy to receive smut, or horror, or funny things happening, even if I didn't officially ask for the corresponding tags—they're just there to indicate broad areas of interest and help me split my prompts up.
I'm also requesting specific pairings in some fandoms and individual characters in others, but no matter which I picked, please know that I adore and would be delighted to receive:
• shipfic! I ship all kinds of things, and I'm here for m/m, f/f, and m/f; background ships of all types are a-okay to include, and poly is more than welcome. :D (But don't feel any need to worry about how shippy a gift you intended as shipfic needs to be—I love friendship fic and enemyship fic, UST and RST, pining that everyone's trying not to acknowledge and hatesex where characters are fucking but not kissing ... So if you end up with something that's full of feelings but no touching, or touching but no kissing, or fucking but no feelings, rest assured that any or all of that is fantastic and I will be thrilled about it!)
• gen! Anything you'd like to write about my requested characters, separately or together or within an ensemble, would be awesome. Backstory? Futurefic? Canon-day character study? Episode tags that add up to 5k? I love loyalty, I love friendship; I love biting antagonism, I love betrayal; I love angst and drama and whump, shenanigans and quiet moments and introspection. Whatever you like!
• free space! Which is to say anything that I've foolishly left off the metaphorical bingo card here. This one super iddy thing you've been waiting for an excuse to write? Your very favorite trope in all the world? The weird idea you suspect absolutely no one else is interested in? I want that thing too, whatever it is! :D Unusual POVs, tenses, or formats; epistolary fic, fake in-universe documentation, CYOA; your post-modernist take on wingfic, written in future conditional. I WANT TO READ IT. LET ME. *grabby hands*
I'm here for adventures and action, banter and dialogue, or characters stranded alone with nothing to do but think. 5k of five things/five times, 5k of missing scenes or episode tags, 5k of canon-divergent AU going in a completely different direction! 5k of everything going as wrong as it could possibly go, or 5k of fix-it where nothing went wrong at all. 5k of setting AU, or 5k of 100% canon-compliant worldbuilding! Seriously, whatever it is you want to write me 5k of, I'm here for it, and so excited to read it. :D!
Honestly, I would be delighted by any 5k story you wanted to tell me about basically any combination of these characters, with even the barest hint of shippiness showing through at any point ... or straight-up smut, whichever. :D Heist plot where they find what turns out to be a clone of Misaki and she says something biting that's almost flirtatious to Nyx one (1) time? Three rescuing Six from the far side of the alien rift for 5k, with a hint that he miiiiight be feeling something in the last line at the end? YES. Six and Three get sex-pollened and fuck on every surface in the Marauder for 5k? Misaki, sent to fetch Nyx and deliver her to Ryo, dubcons her on the way, claiming she's got to make sure Nyx is "fit" for the emperor? ALSO YES.
Seriously, any point at which you can get Nyx and Misaki in the same room, or any plotline that drags Six and Three together, or Six and Nyx rescuing Three from Misaki ... whatever works, however many of them do or don't appear, I'm there for it. 5k of Misaki being absolutely furious that Nyx is so hot! AU where her coup succeeded! Fix-it where Nyx doesn't die! Or write me the story where Kal Varrik went undercover with Tanner's gang instead of Portia Lin, and had to take care of an injured Marcus Boone on that planet. :D AU it for the worse and let post-canon Three find out that explosion really killed Six, and he has all the feelings about that! ;-; Any h/c or get-together tropes, anything canon-compliant or not so much, as much or as little worldbuilding (the Seers? Zairon? The GA, or the blob-alien dimension, or more about how prisons work in the future?) as you'd like to do ... anything!
I will always miss this show so much, and the finale cliffhanger absolutely killed me—I'd love for you to resolve it any way you like in a Six/Three story, AU it away in a Nyx/Misaki story, or just write something set earlier where it's not even relevant. :D I'd adore more of this universe any way I can get it—and please rest assured I'm into all kinds of different elements of the show, the danger and uncertainty and struggle to make hard choices, but also all the tropey shenanigans and humor and people redefining themselves as crew and as a kind of family. :D Dark and angsty and difficult, silly and sweet and affectionate, I'm there for it either way!
I probably shouldn't ship this as hard as I do, considering the most significant interaction between them is Misaki killing Nyx, but boy, do I ever—I love that they're both so competent and so vicious in a fight, that they're so well-matched when Misaki's not cheating with murder poison, and it turns out I'm extremely here for the messiness of both of their relationships with Four/Ryo, especially in combination! (Though I am as here for weird displaced jealousy that turns out to be as much about Nyx as aimed toward Nyx, or for an AU where Misaki ends up on the ship instead of Ryo and is Four. Lean into it, pretend Four doesn't exist and Nyx and Misaki are hate-banging for fun, WHICHEVER.)
Also, I feel like I should say here that I love Misaki being relentless and terrible, and scheming to eliminate anyone in her way unless she can cut their throats instead! If you want to tell me a story where in 5k Misaki manages to reach the point where she's just barely able to not make the cruelest possible decision every time, that would be just as welcome as 5k of Misaki deliberately waiting for her moment and stabbing people in the back without a twinge of regret. :D You definitely don't need to try to make her "soft" for this!
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot | Hurt/Comfort
:: Anything you'd like to write about a job-of-the-week/heist-of-the-week, or people-needing-help-of-the-week, whatever it might be, that you can manage to fit Misaki into for any reason would be amazing!
:: Handwave it into S2: maybe they agree to a mission that will help strengthen Zairon's position in the war (stealing something important from Pyr?) and Misaki, as Hiro's captain of the guard, is sent with them?
:: Or AU S2 so Nyx and Misaki both live, and give me Empress Misaki and reluctantly-still-there Seer Nyx navigating some intrigue at court?
:: I stuck h/c in this set of genre tags because honestly it's basically a canon-style plot—aaaaanything where Nyx gets hurt and Misaki grudgingly saves her because she's ~useful, but it doesn't mean they don't still hate each other, would be wonderful!
:: Or! I would love the AU where Ryo sees Misaki's decision to kill Nyx coming, and he stabs her and leaves her on the Raza and takes the blink drive! She would be the worst patient ever, especially in the aftermath of being functionally exiled like that, but she might not have much of a choice ...
:: Or, of course, any tropey canon-style plot—a time loop, but it's Nyx instead of Three, until she figures out how to win that fight with Misaki and take her prisoner instead? Or Misaki, until she grudgingly starts making different decisions?
:: Amnesia, but this time it's Misaki who's lost her memory? :D
:: Or Nyx encountering the Misaki from the canonical alternate universe? (Is that Misaki better or worse than the original flavor?)
:: Trapped together! Reluctantly huddling for warmth! Forced to ally themselves temporarily to get out of some kind of mess! ANYTHING.
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: Obviously I've already suggested some AUs for the sake of getting Nyx and Misaki in a position to interact more than they canonically do, but I'd love anything where the AU takes the wheel!
:: Diverge as early as you like: give me 5k of the universe where Misaki's the one who ended up on the Raza, out searching for Ryo, and got her memory wiped, and became Four? (Would Misaki!Four and Nyx still have started fucking? I LIKE TO THINK SO)
:: Or maybe Nyx never escaped from the Seers, and ended up in Hiro's court with the rest of them—tell me all about Misaki taunting and hassling her there, but also accidentally giving her the data to realize what was going to happen? (Or making sure to cut her throat personally, that would also be very much IC. :D)
:: And feel free to make it fix-it from Misaki's POV: what if she'd succeeded in her coup attempt? In a world where Nyx had agreed to be Ryo's empress—would she have helped Misaki take him out, in the end? Would Misaki want to kill her, but need to keep her on as a figurehead?Would Misaki fuck her just because it's the closest she can still get to Ryo?
:: Or! Make it fix-it for everybody else—Nyx manages to win their fight on the bridge, and then the crew has to figure out what the hell to do with her (try to use her as a bargaining chip with Ryo, except he's figured out what she was going to do and is happy to leave her there?).
:: Or AU me from another point—give me Nyx as Ryo's empress, Misaki as the captain of the imperial guard, hatefucking each other and using foresight and viciousness to turn the tide of the war with Pyr while Ryo's not paying attention ...
• Getting Together
:: Obviously I've already talked a little bit about ways you could get Misaki and Nyx some kind of together, but for the record, I'm very flexible about what this tag means! Are they already fucking, but by the end of your 5k, they kiss? Do they already have a weird fight-UST thing going, but by the end of your 5k, they fuck? Maybe they hate each other throughout! Maybe they're just barely starting not to! Any of those options is more than okay with me. :D
:: So! Write me the story where Misaki decides the best way to separate Ryo and Nyx isn't to kill Nyx, it's to seduce Nyx (so Ryo will finally understand that she was never good enough for him! Killing her just makes her perfect in his memory, after all ...).
:: Or put Misaki on the Raza for any reason you like (Ryo sent her to them after he left, as a replacement/to try to steal the blink drive from them? Or in that AU where Nyx beat her and then the crew was stuck with her?) and give me Nyx deciding the best way to handle her is to seduce her. :D
:: (I'm weak for anything where characters believe themselves to be manipulating each other with clear heads and well-defined goals, but the more they fuck, the fuzzier the lines get. For the record!)
:: Or, give me a Nyx who's started taking Shadow again so she can see things coming, interacting with Misaki and getting visions of Misaki fucking her (because Misaki's deliberately thinking about doing it clearly enough to set her off, and then coolly deciding against it at the last second? Because Misaki's actually almost going to do it 90% of the time? :D)
:: And, as noted, I am extremely here for any scenario involving Nyx and Misaki on Zairon, no matter how AU it is!
:: Nyx as one of the Seers who ends up working for Hiro—and Misaki picking her to seduce, in an effort to learn whatever information they've been giving Hiro?
:: Nyx as Ryo's empress, except she agreed because she wanted to be in a position to stop him if she needed to ... and Misaki figures that out and grudgingly respects her for it, because she also wants Ryo off the throne, which Nyx didn't see coming?
:: Nyx as Ryo's empress, and part of Misaki's coup + efforts to set herself up as his successor involve marrying Nyx herself? (Dubcon is a-okay with these two, though I'd love for Nyx to be into it at least a little bit, even if she wishes she weren't!)
• Worldbuilding
:: I'm here for any sort of Nyx-centric worldbuilding angle you'd like to take on—what it was like living as a Seer (and how it's the same or different from, say, surviving in Ryo's imperial court)?
:: Or maybe a rundown of all the data about the state of the galaxy she still has in her head, after having it fed to her in their machines? (Is Misaki in there somewhere? How does whatever profile Nyx has on her differ from getting to know her in person?)
:: Or anything that leans on what it's like for her on a day-to-day basis, the things she does see and the things she doesn't—whether having a flash of what might be coming means anything when she's dealing with Misaki? (Or the process of having those flashes get more accurate, as she gets to know Misaki better?)
:: Or! Imperial space worldbuilding of any kind that you'd like to do through flashbacks or something in Misaki's POV—young Misaki and lessons on history/military strategy, vs how frustrated she is with Ryo's decisions in the present day (including wanting Nyx, of course)?
:: Or anything about Misaki's POV on the Seers in general (in addition to Nyx in particular)—what she thought of them, whether she knew what was going to happen to them, whether she thought they were a useful advantage or just frustrating to her own plans ...
:: And anything about Pyr would be great, since we saw so little of it in the show! What does Nyx know about it from the Seers' data, and what has Misaki heard about it living on Zairon? How'd the war even start, anyway?
:: I'm also super here for court intrigue, in a fic about Empress Nyx and/or Misaki as the captain of the guard trying to navigate it—feel free to make up whatever you like about the most powerful families and the way things are done on Zairon!
:: And I'd also be THRILLED if you wanted to tackle the alien invasion—obviously it would have to be pretty AU for Nyx and Misaki to both be alive :D but anything from them working frantically to end the war with Pyr so Zairon will be ready to fight the black ships ...
:: ... to something post-apocalyptic and YEARS later where they're desperately trying to survive as the aliens eat their way through more and more of our dimension—seriously, go wild!
I ship this ridiculously hard, because I love everything about Three (his douchery! his heart of gold! his denial that his heart of gold is a thing!) and I love everything about Six (his glorious angsty backstory! his betrayals and regrets and desire to always do better!), and all the twists and turns in their relationship with each other just kill me—that they've been at odds so much but also had to rely on each other, and when the chips are down they're crew, aaaaaa. (Also that scene in the facility with the alien rift where Three's panicking and basically climbing Six like a tree, and Six reluctantly holds him still so he can be sedated, jeeeeeesus. *____*)
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot | Hurt/Comfort
:: Seriously, set this anytime you like—I'm as interested in Three and a Six who thinks he used to be Griffin Jones, or just found out about his real identity as Kal and the GA ...
:: ... as in S2 Six trying to earn back Three's trust and getting trapped in the Marauder with him ...
:: ... or S3 Three with all his blob-alien-related trauma, having to rescue Six from the blob-alien dimension!
:: Trap them on a planet together? Force them to rescue each other?
:: Get Three arrested by the GA, so Six has to go undercover as himself to get him out, and Three assumes it's just that he betrayed them again! ;-;
:: Or maybe they have to pretend to be married for ~reasons, or Six stays stuck in that simulation in 3.07 and Three has to actually go in there and convince him it's not real, or or or. :D
:: I'm also extremely weak for people being forced to hurt each other as part of a cover, and also for self-sacrifice attempts! So pretty much anything where Three's trying hard to throw himself on a grenade but Six won't let him ...
:: ... or Six and Three run into people who knew Marcus Boone and discover that "Kal" is ex-GA and are expecting Three to beat Six up (and Six does let him ;-;), would be spectacular!
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: What might have happened if either one of them had accidentally gotten re-imprinted with their memories during S1?
:: Or both of them, for that matter (Kal aware that he's GA and undercover! Boone watching him all the time, still planning to kill him if he has the chance!)?
:: Or if Six had been the one who'd gotten implanted with that blob-alien in S2? (5k that revolves around him deliberately making sure it's him instead of Three, trying to protect Three on that mission, would be STELLAR. ;-;)
:: Or if he hadn't left the ship during that chunk of S3 (or had, but Three had opted to go with him as grudging backup :D)?
:: Or go back a lot further: if Kal had never gone undercover, how else might he have encountered the crew, and Three, eventually? (Might they have taken him hostage escaping from prison at the beginning of S2? :D)
:: Or if Marcus Boone had stayed with Tanner's gang instead of joining up with Portia—what if Kal Varrik had gone undercover with them instead? (Totally here for a Marcus Boone/Kal Varrik story, it doesn't need to be Three and Six! :D)
:: Or, of course, fix it: the S3 finale didn't necessarily kill Six, but it easily could have—so tell me all about the future where it didn't and he's just stuck in the wrong dimension!
:: Does Three end up linked to some more aliens, and "see" him there? Insist on going through to rescue him? (Does Six come back with an alien in him, and they need to find a new way to get it out?)
:: Or go back and fix something else—what if Six had never betrayed the crew to the GA in the first place, at the end of S1?
• Getting Together
:: There's honestly nothing I wouldn't read about these guys, so any get-together trope you love would be A++! Handcuffed together (Six pretending to be GA and trying to get Three out of a scrape, having to follow procedure and secure him ... to himself)?
:: Accidental telepathy (maybe Three's exposure to the aliens as a host + Six's exposure to the aliens on the far side of the rift = oops, mindlink)?
:: Or alien possession dubcon! Three gets taken over again, and the alien makes him fuck Six—who does know it isn't him, but goes along trying to get the chance to help save him? Who doesn't know? Vice versa? (Or it's all in Three's head, and one of the aliens just made him see it happen ...)
:: Or! Time loop, except it's Six instead of Three ... but Three believes him and is genuinely helpful, thanks to Three's own past experience? :D
:: Also, just tossing this out there, but that episode where they were stuck in the Marauder together, with Three still pissed off and Six trying to talk it out, was gold—if you'd like to roll with that but bring it to a shippier and/or pornier conclusion, that would be amazing. *_____*
:: Just in general, I would adore all kinds of longer and more fraught arguments with each other about Six's betrayal, with Six gradually realizing that it stung Three weirdly deeply, and Three having to admit he'd genuinely trusted and started to ~feel things about Six. ;-;
:: And of course, as noted, I love Three getting himself beaten up for stupid reasons, and also Six being badass and heroic ...
:: ... or Six getting himself beaten up for noble reasons and Three bitching him out for it but also helping him!
:: Anything with them being stubborn and getting in trouble, arguing about ethics and being reluctantly into each other for 5k, I mean, I'm so there. :D
• Worldbuilding
:: The aliens! If you'd like to tell me more about what it feels like to be taken over by them, what the "presence" of that rift was like and whatever leftover traces of their presence still stick, from Three's perspective, please do!
:: Or, of course, if you're interested in rolling with "Six trapped on the wrong side of the rift"—what is it like there? What is left, once the blob-aliens are done consuming all the energy in a universe?
:: How do they organize themselves as a society? (They've got ships; does that mean those ships have captains? Engineers? How do they conceptualize whatever roles they've got—and is some of that information still in Three's head, after he plays host to one?)
:: And if you'd like to write me futurefic where everything's gone horribly wrong and the aliens are in fact eating everything, that would be fantastic—I'm totally here for Three and Six trying to survive together in the space apocalypse, too. :D
:: Or focus in on S3 Six and his attempts to organize the independent colonies! How many are there, anyway, and what are some of the problems they face in forming an alliance that the show didn't get into?
:: Or! The GA. :D I love undercover shenanigans, so absolutely anything where Six has to pretend to be GA again, and you invent all the rules and procedures he needs to re-learn, would be great!
I love this show a ridiculous amount and am so excited for S2 (which I don't think will be airing during the creation period ... but if it is, no worries, I'll be staying caught up :D). Alternate history! Magic! Hot women in uniforms! And while I ship Abigail/Raelle like burning, I also really love Tally, Scylla, Libba, and all the other characters—background ships, Bellweather Unit Feelings, AUs of any kind, missing scenes during canon or wherever you want to go post-S1, just, ANYTHING.
But! I do specifically adore the slow burn between Abigail and Raelle, the way they go from grudging and frustrated to actively protective of and affectionate toward each other, and I'm here for any direction you want to take that: letting it progress even further, in line with the canon scenario, give me the AU where they're "stuck" in a witch-witch arranged marriage, or anywhere in between. A five-things fic of canon-compliant moments of UST, set between or during episodes! They fucked each other during Beltane, and now it's awkward! An alternate first meeting where they hooked up before heading to Fort Salem, and then realize they're in the same unit—or where they didn't meet until they were already on the front lines together, post-War-College! :D
This show rapidly became one of my favorite new canons, and I love basically everything about it—and, as noted, if S2 airs in time for you to use it, feel free to, but I'd also be delighted with something based solely on S1! I adore the military aesthetic, but also the intermittent horror vibe (making people jump to their deaths! Putting birds in dead people's throats to talk with! EVIL SPREE BALLOONS IN MIRRORS D:), and I love that it's neither as simple as "military good, Spree bad" OR "military bad, Spree good". SO I'm happy to have you lean into team feelings and successful missions and the wonders of magic, but also moral and ethical uncertainty, violence, unfixable mistakes, and the incredibly creepy shit you can do with magic. :D
(Oh, and side note: with Scylla, do whatever suits you! If you'd like to break her and Raelle up earlier than in canon, that's fine; if you'd like to just ignore her/pretend she doesn't exist/make your story a tacit AU where Raelle's mother has another strategy in the works, that's fine also. Either way! And if you want to run with one of my AU/futurefic/post-canon prompts and just have her be Raelle's ex, that works, too.)
This ended up being one of my favorite relationships on the whole show, and I love them both so much! I'm always kind of weak for opposites, and people who get off on the wrong foot but are stuck with each other, and start to get to know each other kind of despite themselves. ♥ Add in the insults, protectiveness, and whatever the heck they did by holding hands in the finale, and I'm SOLD. Toss in an "I love you, shitbird" at a pivotal moment in your work, and I will be at your mercy. :D
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot | Hurt/Comfort
:: Seriously, pile on the UST, anywhere during the show—I very much enjoy the idea of Raelle as Abigail's bi/lesbian awakening, that she knows intellectually that women sleep with women, but she's never had any reason to think about that in the context of herself, until Raelle makes it impossible not to. :D
:: BUT I'm also here for Abigail having had a secret resentful hatesex/fuckbuddy thing going on with Libba, and not having wanted to admit it. For the record.
:: And hurt/comfort is basically canon, and doubly doable considering Raelle's abilities! Anything where Abigail's captured by the Spree and hurt, and Raelle comes to the rescue and heals her whole again, would be AMAZING.
:: Or, of course, jump off from that cliffhanger! Where are Abigail and Raelle, and what does that space or dimension they're in have to do with the fungus wall???
:: How do they get back from wherever it is? Is there a new connection between them when they do? (I absolutely love telepathy, dreamsharing, and forced proximity!)
:: Are they a unit of two, with Tally taken away from them to serve as a biddy? Are they willing to accept a new third member, or do they stick to each other all the tighter and more stubbornly for having lost Tally?
:: Or go further in the future: where are they and what's happening, in ten or fifteen years? Do they go straight to the front lines? Do they ever make it to War College?
:: I'm a sucker for reunions! Say, Abigail, injured on the front lines, not realizing until Raelle's in front of her again that that's who's going to be working on healing the damage ... (Did they part on good terms? Bang, but Abigail got weird about it and everything went sour? Break up, and they're exes?)
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: What if it had been one of them who died, not Libba, and the one who's left is struggling to cope, grieving with Tally?
:: Having dreams ... that might not just be dreams? Or deciding to call the other back the same way Porter was called back, to make a final confession of feelings and then let go? ;-;
:: Or maybe Abigail was too injured for even the mycelium or whatever to fix, and it's her ghost Raelle's walking hand in hand with, but Raelle doesn't know it—yet? D:
:: I'll gratefully swallow absolutely any excuse you can come up with for it to somehow be necessary for a Bellweather to marry a representative from the Chippewa Cession—awkward, unexpectedly hot wedding nights that they agreed in advance wouldn't be repeated, slow burn and pining for the person who's already your spouse, just trope it to hell and back and I will love you forever. *______*
:: Or! Let them meet earlier? I would love an AU where, like, the very last night before the draft, Raelle went out and met a hot girl in a bar, a girl who turned out not to be as straight as she'd told Raelle she was ... and then oops, they come face-to-face at Fort Salem, worst morning after ever. :D
:: Or later? Give me a version of Abigail who's already on the front lines, and the Fixer assigned to her battalion is this incredibly difficult shitbird who seems to be trying to get herself killed!
• Getting Together
:: I'd be delighted if you wanted to set this during canon—is some of Abigail's irritation with Raelle actually jealousy, seeing her with Scylla and not sure why she hates it so much?
:: Or! Comforting Raelle after Scylla turns out to be Spree goes ... a little further than Abigail initially intended for it to? :D
:: Might witches accidentally soulbond? (Maybe healing the same person repeatedly can forge a connection, even?)
:: Or bodyswap! Abigail "going home" to the Cession and learning more about it, with Raelle-in-her-body as a "friend" she brought with her—or Raelle trying to deal with the Bellweather family, with Abigail-in-Raelle trying to subtly coach her?
:: Or power swaps—suddenly Abigail's a Fixer and discovers a new appreciation for what it takes to do it, with Raelle desperately trying to coach her through saving someone?
:: I love the classics: sex pollen, time shenanigans, going undercover—Raelle, trying to infiltrate the Spree, and Abigail there as backup, in disguise, having to pretend to be her girlfriend? :D :D :D
:: Maybe next year the Reel at Beltane brings them to each other, so many times in a row that even they can't ignore it?
• Worldbuilding
:: I am extremely here for ritual sex in general, honestly, and you don't need to stick to just Beltane: tell me all about other witchy rituals or ceremonies that yield revelations or start wheels turning?
:: And I already kind of prompted for this, but I really would love to see more about the Chippewa Cession—how it formed, what it's like there, how it differs from what Abigail's used to ...
:: Or, of course, the other way around: worldbuild alllll the High Atlantic traditions the Bellweathers keep up, where they came from and what they're for, the other well-known families and their relationships to the Bellweathers!
:: And if you'd like to send them to War College, I would absolutely love to see what you think that might look like—housing, training scenarios, areas of study, anything!
:: I'd also be thrilled if you wanted to put them on the front lines of conflict, and worldbuild that way: other tactics employed by the Spree or the Camarilla, the history of each as Abigail and Raelle know it in greater depth ...
:: ... or even more about how witches conduct themselves in the field, how units and battalions are organized, the kinds of operations they undertake and the kinds of things they can use magic for!
:: And if you wanted to write a story about Abigail and Raelle taking refuge with the Tarim and falling in love—learning their songs one at a time and recovering from everything that happened—I'd be over the moon. :D
back to top
I loved this movie so much, it was everything I was hoping for from the trailers and then some—it's so ridiculously beautiful, I love the world and the characters and the themes, and Raya and Namaari's joint arc was everything I could possibly have asked for. :D So! I'd be delighted by anything you'd like to write me about them, whether it's either or both of their POVs from some point during canon, canon-compliant post-canon, or an AU that branches off anywhere you like, and makes things better or worse.
I'm here for complicated resentful feelings that are just barely starting to include UST, post-movie fic where they actually have the chance to get to know each other while helping Fang rebuild, or the tropiest arranged-marriage AU that lives in your heart. :D Does Namaari ever manage to really apologize for having betrayed Raya's trust when they were kids—and does it take time for Raya to be able to accept that apology? Give me fluff about dragon nerds in a world where ALL the dragons are back, or angst where Namaari's avoiding Raya out of guilt because she doesn't think she can ever make amends, or the AU where Virana was turned into stone by the Druun a long time ago and Namaari had to switch gears and grudgingly start helping Raya instead, to both their dismay. Whatever you like!
If there was a flaw in this movie, it was that it wasn't twice as long—I wanted more of everything and more room for it all to happen in, because so much of it was SO GOOD. Raya is amazing and I love everything about her, Namaari's character arc is my kryptonite, and if you wanted to give me 5k of worldbuilding about this universe and its magic and the DRAGONS and tack two lines where Raya and Namaari kiss at the end, I would be all over that. :D!
This ship is my id on so many different levels it kind of beggars belief! I love characters who are at odds but actually have a tremendous amount in common, I love hurt and betrayal and trust and the long slow process of forgiving someone (or the long slow process of trying and not getting there), I love competence and rivalry and people who have a lot of feelings on the inside and are desperately trying to keep them hidden ... IT'S JUST SO GOOD. ;-; And for the record, I'm here for emphasis on Namaari's betrayal, and I'm here for futurefic where they've successfully moved on—you definitely don't need to hammer on that angle if it doesn't appeal to you, but you should feel free to lean into the angst and lingering pain if you're into that kind of thing!
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot | Hurt/Comfort
:: I'd love basically any story that's in line with and during canon, with even the faintest pre-shippy or shippy vibe involved—other times Namaari has caught up to Raya, while following her trail?
:: Or a five + one fic that adds up to 5k, with five other times Raya has left Namaari notes + a time she does it post-canon? (Namaari didn't seem at all confused about who'd sent the one she finds on her windowsill; is that maybe because she recognizes Raya's writing? :D)
:: Or! I'd be over the moon about a post-canon quest or adventure that brings them back together—maybe seeking out the secret origins of the Druun, to try to find out where they come from?
:: Or maybe it turns out there are still some people/a few dragons who remain stone, and a different solution is required to bring them back? (Maybe they even need help from a Druun?)
:: Or—was Virana right to think Fang's in an awkward position, disliked by every other tribe, after the end of the movie? Does Namaari agree to undertake a task for another tribe, to prove they're not going to cause any more problems? (Might Raya insist on going with her, because she does in fact believe this mess isn't all Fang's fault, even if it is in part? :D)
:: And I tossed hurt/comfort into this group because there were some hints of it in canon that I would love for you to build on—emotional hurt/comfort where Raya's struggling to handle suddenly having her dad back, having changed so much while he was stone, and Namaari awkwardly tries to be there for her?
:: Or physical h/c! Bring the Druun back, invent some bad guys who preferred Kumandra disunited, or maybe there's creepy old magic that isn't Druun lurking in the corners of the world—hurt Raya and let Namaari rescue her when she isn't expecting it ...
:: ... or hurt Namaari and let Raya rescue her when she isn't expecting it, still assuming Raya might have trusted her to save the world but doesn't actually like her! ;-;
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: AU me from any point you like! What if Raya hadn't shown Namaari the gem so quickly—would Virana have cooked up some kind of excuse for Namaari to stay longer? Would Namaari eventually have cracked and told Raya why she was there? Or would she have gone to steal the gem herself, and it would've been EVEN WORSE when they were actually friends for more than a day? ;-;
:: Or! What if Fang had suffered a problem with their water supply sooner, and Virana had turned to stone years earlier? Would Namaari have ended up calling a fragile truce with Raya, trying to get her help to fix it?
:: On the not-so-fix-it end of things, feel free to make everything worse! Give me Namaari and Raya still after each other in a wasteland of stone, with a handful of other survivors at best ...
:: Or tell me about the world where Namaari did make a break for it at the end, gem in hand—is she able to bring Virana back with it, even when its magic is failing? Or does she go on the run with it, one step ahead of the Druun, trying to figure out how to fix it? (Does she still end up in the same place, having to trust Raya and let herself be turned to stone?)
:: But! I would also absolutely enjoy a fix-it: Fang came to Heart not to try to steal the gem, but hoping to set up a betrothal between their princess and Heart's, if they got along? :D
:: Or! Total roleswap AU: Fang suffers catastrophe, Virana gets turned into stone, and canon-age Namaari is trying to bring back Sisu and then steal the totally intact gem from Heart to cure her, and she isn't going to let Chief Benja stop her?
• Getting Together
:: You should feel free to use "magic!" as a handwave for absolutely any get-together trope you're into: touching the gem at the same time, as Raya was handing it to Namaari, soulbonded them? :D
:: Or Namaari chases Raya into a little-known corner of Kumandra where there are sex-pollen flowers? (And in the aftermath, they Only Hate Each Other More ... except they also can't stop thinking about it?)
:: I know I already hit on "arranged marriage" up there in the AU section, but I would also be weak for post-canon arranged marriage—Virana, wanting to make a gesture of goodwill and alliance, offers Raya Namaari's hand?
:: Or! Time loop? Maybe it took more than one try for Namaari to realize what she was going to have to do at the end, to make the magic work ...
:: Honestly, I'm just weak for time travel in general—if you wanted to send a Raya from the awkward post-canon present forward to a future where she and Namaari are married and happy together ...
:: ... or a Namaari from an apocalyptic future backwards to beg her own younger self to listen to Raya when the time comes, I would be ALL OVER that. :D!
:: I also love forced proximity—Raya and Namaari stumbling into a curse that won't let them leave each other's vicinity, set either during the movie or afterward, would be amazing. :'D
• Worldbuilding
:: And however you'd like to bring worldbuilding into focus, with some Raya/Namaari around the edges, I'd love it—get into more detail about life in each tribe, with Raya and Namaari traveling through them post-movie trying to help people find each other/adjust to what feels like a six-year timeskip?
:: Or, in combination with any of the prompts above that it could apply to: Raya learning what it's like to live in Fang? Namaari discovering how things work in Heart?
:: And of course I'd be thrilled with more details about the other nations, too—Raya and Namaari visiting Boun in Tail, or Tong in Spine, or Noi and the ongis in Talon? Experiencing foods, clothes, holidays, or learning their legends about the war and the Druun and the dragons?
:: More history! I'd love for you to use the return of the dragons to exposit about what actually happened during the first conflict with the Druun, what things were like then and how they've changed ...
:: Or more about the dragons in general—how many of them there are, their names and their powers, whether Sisu has to do anything to "return" her siblings' powers to them, how disorienting it might be for them to return to such a changed world after five centuries. Anything you want to delve into, I'm there!
:: And I'd be delighted if you wanted to dive into the Druun! Sisu says at one point that the Druun come from human conflict—how true is that? Will the next clash between any two tribes bring them back? Are they "alive" in any sense, or are they essentially a (magical) force of nature?
I love this show so much, and it occurred to me that it was about time I requested it again. :D Gunnar and Sinbad are two of my favorite characters, in a cast I adore overall, and I ship them ridiculously hard—I'd be thrilled with anything you wanted to write me about them! A new adventure, paying-passenger-of-the-week or cargo-transport-of-the-week, that goes supernaturally wrong somehow, with even the faintest hint of shippiness going on in the background ... or either one of them in magical trouble that true love's kiss can fix. AU me from any point you like—no storm in the pilot? AU where Sinbad's parents aren't dead, but Gunnar still ends up in Basra as a trader?
Or! Use any of your favorite get-together tropes on these two. Amnesia? A time loop? A truth spell? Forced proximity? :D I would adore whump for either of them—lean into the cliffhanger and have something terrible happen to Sinbad, so Gunnar can come to the rescue and fix it; or shove Gunnar's past in his face and then let Sinbad reassure him. I'm super weak for loyalty and self-sacrifice, people deliberately getting themselves in trouble as a distraction or to let others get away, and these two are absolutely PERFECT for that kind of thing. ;-; And if you're interested in doing some worldbuilding about the magic of this world, the land of the dead or the shadows that took over Basra mid-season, the northern lands Gunnar came from or how Sinbad's grandmother was able to curse him, feel free!
This show delights me so much, considering how long it took me to even learn that it existed and how long it's been off the air, and I love revisiting its world and its characters any chance I get! The plots are ridiculous, the SFX are kind of iffy, and the ensemble is so much fun—I love how they start out, strangers who don't especially want to be where they are, and the slow process of them all getting to know each other, discovering each other's secrets half by accident and caring about each other kind of despite themselves. ♥ SO YEAH. Anything you'd like to tell me about them would be fantastic, as long as it's Gunnar/Sinbad-flavored one way or another!
I went into watching the show for the first time anticipating that I would end up shipping this, just because I'd already been given to understand it was a thing—but basically the second Sinbad and Gunnar made eye contact, before Sinbad even knew Gunnar's name, I was like YES THAT. :D They're so different from each other but so similar, too, with everything they're each running from and all the hurts they're ignoring or trying to hide, and I basically can't get enough of them.
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot | Hurt/Comfort
:: By all means give me your thoughts on the cliffhanger, and what happens next! What is it that's got Alehna, and what does it want with Sinbad? (And what is Gunnar inevitably going to do to try to stop it? :D)
:: And I definitely love rescues—if you want to send Sinbad back to the city of the dead and make Gunnar retrieve him, just full-on Eurydice-style, I would adore that!
:: Or! Skip over the cliffhanger and give them a brand-new adventure—more passengers? New cargo? Make this as shippy as you like (one of the passengers is into Gunnar, Sinbad's CONVINCED they're bad news but can't articulate that in any way that doesn't sound like jealousy ...) or just hint that there might be some pining going on behind all the action. Either's good!
:: And I'm totally happy for there to be plenty of the rest of the ensemble involved, with Nala or Tiger or both of them! As long as Sinbad and/or Gunnar are around, and there's at least one (1) longing look or thought, your fic will be shippy enough for me. :D
:: And! I am so incredibly weak for rescues and h/c—please, by all means, give me Sinbad getting himself into trouble, and Gunnar having to break a speak or go after someone who's taken him!
:: Or, of course, maybe Gunnar gets himself in the way and ends up cursed or hurt instead, and it's Sinbad who has to save him or fix it. ♥
:: And I'm here for emotional h/c also, for the record. Someone from Gunnar's past shows up, not expecting or believing that Gunnar's changed—but Sinbad's sure he has? ;-;
:: Or anything where Sinbad's past rears its ugly head, running into people who used to know his parents (whether friends or enemies) or his grandmother?
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: If you want to diverge before canon, I'm there! What if Sinbad's father were still alive? Would he be the emir's court magician, in a completely different Basra—and might his son be out in the market looking for exotic northern goods to buy, or wanting to hire a Northman as a bodyguard? :D
:: Or! What if the Providence hadn't encountered that storm in the pilot? If Sinbad had stayed locked up belowdecks, would he and Gunnar still have made friends, over the course of the trip? What about the rest of the ensemble?
:: Or if Gunnar had been tracked down by the Khaima (spell this any way that makes sense to you, I'm just reading off Wikipedia :D) before the show started, and had joined them—might he have ended up tracking down Sinbad, for causing Akbari's son's death?
:: Or make it even worse: more of that alternate universe from Sinbad's vision! Gunnar in black leather and eyeliner feeling terrible about himself because he'd never met Sinbad was catnip to me—let him meet his own Sinbad, or cross to a universe that has a Sinbad but no Gunnar?
:: Or, of course, fix it: if Sinbad had never killed Akbari's son, could he still have run into Gunnar in the marketplace sooner or later—trying to steal from him, even? :D
:: Or let Taryn *waves hands* travel back in time and cure Alehna so she never dies in the first place! Suddenly everything's different, but Sinbad still remembers the canon timeline, and he's not the only one?
• Getting Together
:: Or! Maybe Sinbad's the one who time-travels—to a future where he's already with Gunnar and blissfully happy, and then make it a closed loop where that's why he stares at Gunnar like that in the pilot? :D
:: And I kind of prompted for this already, but yeah, Sinbad getting ensnared in magical difficulties that Gunnar has to, like, quest or sacrifice something to get him out of—and then admits why he was willing to go to those lengths over it—would be solid gold. :D
:: BUT I also love this the other way around, with any tropey or magical circumstances that might require Sinbad to be all clever and kind and brash and Sinbad-y to get Gunnar out of a trap/someone's clutches safely. ♥
- And when I say tropey, I mean it: the magic and the settings in Sinbad are so handwavy that you can do almost anything you please! Maybe Gunnar's trapped in a time loop?
:: Or the crew reaches an island covered in sex pollen plants, or literal lotus eaters who manage to enchant Sinbad with visions of an ideal world—and Gunnar has to find a way to convince him it's not real!
:: Sinbad drinks the wrong thing and discovers he can't lie anymore—or maybe that he can't tell the truth? :D
- Or, of course, just any string of quiet easy moments on the ship adding up 5k—five things or five times that make up 5k put together, them getting to know each other better and growing slowly closer.
:: OR LEARNING THEY ACCIDENTALLY GOT MAGICALLY MARRIED ON THIS ONE ISLAND BECAUSE THEY DRANK FROM THE SAME CUP. :D
• Worldbuilding
:: Please feel free to tell me anything at all that you would like to make up about what things are like where Gunnar is from!
:: How magic is done there, like or unlike Taryn and her chickens and blood and visions? Or what magical creatures live there?
:: What the Valsgard were and did, and what Gunnar saw and did when he left them and traveled aaaaaaall the way to Basra. Places he went through on the way? People he met?
:: Or, on Sinbad's side, any of the details of what daily life consists of in Basra vs on the ship?
:: What kinds of stories his grandmother told him, how much he knows about his father and mother, and about magic, or more of the consequences of his situation as half-alive and half-dead?
:: And if you want to try to make something coherent out of the emir supporting "science" over "magic", when that happened and why and what Basra was like before and after, be my guest! :D
:: And for the record, I don't feel strongly about being 100% canon-compliant here, or 100% compliant with any word-of-god stuff you're familiar with. And obviously you also should feel no pressure to be compliant with actual history, either, becase a) the show sure didn't and b) this is a setting where magic is real! Like, feel free to base any worldbuilding on the real world/actual history, but also don't feel like you need to do exhaustive research or anything, because *waves hands* it is SINBAD.

I always end up defaulting to requesting Cal when I ask for this show—there are so many things I'm interested in, but at the heart of it, there's always Cal, and I would love any 5k story you wanted to tell me about her! SO. Anything that adds up to 5k during the show, missing scenes or a set of episode tags for the whole season, would be just as amazing as backstory with a younger Cal and her family, or trying to survive her first year in prison—or 5k of what you think happens next after that finale. :D AU where Cal never went to jail, or was raised at L'Attente? Fix-it fic where nobody dies? Or fix-it fic as far as Adrielle's concerned, where Augie and Dylan both kick the bucket and she has Cal and the sirens all to herself ...
Which, I also ship Cal with everybody, so. 5k of canon-compliant Cal/Dylan or Cal/Corey, where there's more sex with siren powers or they actually get to talk things through? AU where she can save either or both of them? YES PLEASE. But I am also definitely here for power-tripping manipulative Cal/Adrielle dubcon (and any of those things can go either way or both ways: Adrielle power-tripping? Cal manipulating Adrielle, or discovering her siren's voice is powerful enough that even Adrielle is swayed by it? Cal "letting" herself be "dubconned" as an in with Adrielle, except she likes it more than she thought she would?)—or Cal/Augie not-technically-incest-anymore, as messy as you want it to get. :D Cal/Leandra fighting that turns into sex? Cal/Violca with Violca seducing Cal because she wants someone who can challenge Adrielle on her side? And any worldbuilding you want to do about siren lore, the horn and water magic and how sirens actually feel about their abandoned children ... go for it!
I already had kind of a thing for murder mermaids even before this show got on my radar, and wow, it did not help me get over that thing at all! There's nothing about secret drug-dealing half-sirens in Australia that I don't love with every inch of my heart, and the sheer soapy drama of the whole thing was magnificent. AND THEN I got so intrigued by all the worldbuilding around the Tidelanders and their culture, their "laws", their longing for their mothers ... It's such a captivating hot mess, I watched all eight episodes in one go and—appropriately enough, lol—couldn't make myself come up for air! :D
And! I loved Cal so very much. :D Her angsty backstory is so amazing and messed-up in all my favorite ways, and her homecoming is so believably awkward and difficult and painful. ♥ Her journey toward starting to learn some of the secrets that have been kept from her, and starting to understand herself—being able to use her powers, and even wanting to, and the push-pull between enjoying it and being terrified of it ... I LOVED ALL OF IT, and Cal is great, the end.
• Action/Adventure | Canon-Style Plot
:: So! Anything you'd like to tell me about Cal pre-canon, her childhood while her dad was still alive, not knowing where she'd come from and believing Augie was her brother, her terrible messy relationship with her mother ...
:: Or the frame job! Going to prison, adjusting to it, and whether there was a part of her that wasn't sure she'd ever make it out again?
:: And I'd love it if you wanted to expand on canon a little! Give me some missing scenes or episode tags—five conversations Cal might have had and one she definitely didn't?
:: Or expand on Cal's first visit to Orphelin Beach, or that walk with Adrielle through the site of the Tidelander massacre!
:: Or follow up on that moment when she finally has to actually explain out loud to Augie what she is? More adventures in experimenting with her powers and what they can be used for, how well they work and just how much she can make people do with them ...
:: And I would very much enjoy anywhere you wanted to go post-canon, too. :D More struggles in dealing with Augie's ... business, or trying to survive whatever Adrielle's got in mind next, now that she has in fact succeeded in summoning sirens?
:: Which, if you have an idea that springs directly off the last bit of S1, go for it—but feel free to skip ahead and give me brand-new problems (are the sirens okay with being summoned ... or not so much? What's the fallout among the Tidelanders from everything that's happened?), and only fill in how that sequence played out with references from the characters afterward.
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: Man, there are so many points for canon divergence, I hardly know where to start! What if Cal had never gone to prison—if Augie had taken the fall with a false confession?
:: Or if she'd fled from the police (and ended up stumbling all the way to Orphelin Beach, maybe)? How else might she have learned what she was?
:: I'd also love 5k of a world in which basically any canonical sequence of events goes differently! What if Dylan had decided to full-on side with Cal over Adrielle earlier?
:: Or if Violca had recruited her in an effort to defy Adrielle sooner?
:: Or if she'd been able to save poor Colton—or met Gilles and Bijou earlier, and Bijou's drawings had helped her guess a few more things that were coming?
:: Or, of course, there's the finale! What if Cal actually had killed Adrielle—how would the rest of the Tidelanders have reacted to her as queen? (I'm equally interested in principled queen Cal who's not going to make people gouge each other's eyes out anymore ... or a darker Cal who starts to indulge the part of her nature that enjoyed making a man helplessly drown himself. :D)
:: On the fix-it end of things, by all means let her succeed in forcing Corey's blood back inside him and keeping his heart beating, in the morgue; or let Dylan leave Adrielle to die and stick with Cal instead; or let her save Bijou and Augie, dammit!
• Getting Together
:: I absolutely ship Cal with both Corey and Dylan, so feel free to write about either pairing, or both continuing to occur at once in a V, or an actual straight-up poly formation where Corey and Dylan also bang!
:: If you want to play up the whole "queen" thing, and potential additional Tidelander powers, in a femdom way with either or both of these pairings, feel free!
:: Or give me the AU where Cal's still a Tidelander but doesn't go to prison, and got together with Corey or Dylan under better circumstances. ♥
:: Or go any other tropey direction you like: do Tidelanders grow secret sex pollen plants? Soulbond to each other, or to humans? Have soulmates? :D
:: But! I'm also weak for incest and pseudo-incest, and Augie and Cal have such a compellingly strong relationship with each other—they trust each other SO MUCH, and that entire rescue + holding each other + Cal confessing to him that she'd made that guy drown and liked it, ffff, MY HEART. So if you'd like to write that, and lean into how weird it is to learn they aren't related but still feel like brother and sister, except oops, maybe not quite that anymore, that would be fantastic. :D
:: AND THEN ALSO I would be delighted to read about fucked-up manipulative Cal/Adrielle—they had so much UST already in canon! Anything where Adrielle's seducing Cal but it's also about controlling the degree of the threat Cal poses to her would be AMAZING.
:: And of course I'd also love it the other way around! Cal winning whatever battle of wills might occur post-canon, ascending to the position of queen and keeping Adrielle around for fun, fucking her just to remind her that she can ...
:: Or Cal/Violca—where Violca's trying to get someone else to take Adrielle on first so she can step forward in the aftermath (except Cal does better than expected, and suddenly Violca's got to keep her favor instead?)
:: I would also be extremely here for weird not-very-domestic kidfic! Cal finding out about Violca's pregnancy and the thing where Adrielle lied to them all could totally turn into Cal doing everything she can to help Violca have the baby safely and take care of it, to prove to the Tidelanders that Adrielle was fucking with them.
:: Or, heck, Cal/Leandra (Leandra finds Cal first in the morgue, not Corey, and there's fightsex? :D).
• Worldbuilding
:: So the sirens are definitely the obvious worldbuilding hook here, and I would LOVE to know whatever headcanon you have about them—the scenes with Adrielle getting a translation of the text on the artifact, and the "historical" legends about the horn and armies of women from the sea, man, it was all such catnip. :D
:: Anything with Cal involved that delves a little deeper into that stuff, the nature of sirens and where they come from (if there are no siren dudes, and when they bang human dudes they dump the babies ... can select Tidelanders be made into full sirens, if the sirens choose to do so? Or is it more mythological—sirens carve new sirens out of stone, or something?)
:: Or go back way further! Invent some more translations or documentation that covers the breaking of that horn and the scattering of the pieces, and let Cal find it and start to learn more about it?
:: And I'd also be stoked with anything that was more focused on the Tidelanders and their community! Everything about how separate they are, how separate they feel, that they don't quite belong on land or in water, the juxtaposition of the desperation some of them feel to reach out for their mothers and the awareness that their mothers abandoned them ...
:: I loved that bit of history/flashback Adrielle shared with Cal, too, and their social structure and their rules are so interesting (and obviously also kind of creepy/brutal: the eye-gouging, Adrielle's determination to make them all believe they can't have kids with humans, succession among queens)—anything that digs into their history and what made them live the way they currently do would be AMAZING.
:: AND THEN ALSO I'd love more specifics about their magic! The water-lock on Adrielle's little basement of surprises was super cool—please tell me all about how it feels to Cal to control water, including the water in blood, and to breathe it. Or to entrance people, for that matter!
:: And then there's Bijou and Genoveva, with their apparent precognition; how does that work? Are there other "extra" talents that some Tidelanders have and others don't? (Can full-blooded sirens see the future even more clearly? Is that why they came to the shore for Cal and not for Adrielle—because they saw that it would be her, and that mattered somehow?)

I can only hope you aren't reading these words because you got all the way through that whole thing, y i k e s. !!! All my apologies for the rambling, and may there have been something useful to you somewhere in it—I'm so glad you're into one or more of these fandoms, and so excited to read whatever it is you end up writing for me. :D Have an amazing Fandom5K! ♥
I'm on the AO3 as
In General
Dark Matter (TV)
Nyx Harper/Misaki Han-Shireikan, Six | Griffin Jones/Three | Marcus Boone
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Hurt/Comfort, Worldbuilding
Nyx/Misaki
Would Misaki want to kill her, but need to keep her on as a figurehead?
Six/Three
I ship this ridiculously hard, because I love everything about Three (his douchery! his heart of gold! his denial that his heart of gold is a thing!) and I love everything about Six (his glorious angsty backstory! his betrayals and regrets and desire to always do better!), and all the twists and turns in their relationship with each other just kill me—that they've been at odds so much but also had to rely on each other, and when the chips are down they're crew, aaaaaa.
:: Get Three arrested by the GA, so Six has to go undercover as himself to get him out, and Three assumes it's just that he betrayed them again! ;-;
:: Just in general, I would adore all kinds of longer and more fraught arguments with each other about Six's betrayal, with Six gradually realizing that it stung Three weirdly deeply, and Three having to admit he'd genuinely trusted and started to ~feel things about Six. ;-;
Motherland: Fort Salem
Abigail Bellweather/Raelle Collar
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Hurt/Comfort, Worldbuilding
Abigail Bellweather/Raelle Collar
:: Having dreams ... that might not just be dreams? Or deciding to call the other back the same way Porter was called back, to make a final confession of feelings and then let go? ;-;
:: Or maybe Abigail was too injured for even the mycelium or whatever to fix, and it's her ghost Raelle's walking hand in hand with, but Raelle doesn't know it—yet?
Raya and the Last Dragon
Namaari/Raya
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Hurt/Comfort, Worldbuilding
Namaari/Raya
:: ... or hurt Namaari and let Raya rescue her when she isn't expecting it, still assuming Raya might have trusted her to save the world but doesn't actually like her! ;-;
• AU - Canon Divergence | Fix-it Fic
:: AU me from any point you like! What if Raya hadn't shown Namaari the gem so quickly—would Virana have cooked up some kind of excuse for Namaari to stay longer? Would Namaari eventually have cracked and told Raya why she was there? Or would she have gone to steal the gem herself, and it would've been EVEN WORSE when they were actually friends for more than a day? ;-;
Sinbad (TV)
Gunnar/Sinbad
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Hurt/Comfort, Worldbuilding
Gunnar/Sinbad
:: And I'm here for emotional h/c also, for the record. Someone from Gunnar's past shows up, not expecting or believing that Gunnar's changed—but Sinbad's sure he has? ;-;
:: Or anything where Sinbad's past rears its ugly head, running into people who used to know his parents (whether friends or enemies) or his grandmother?
Tidelands (TV)
Calliope "Cal" McTeer
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot, Fix-it Fic, Getting Together, Worldbuilding
Cal McTeer
