MAN, the first week of 2018 got away from me. /o\ I don't even know what happened, it feels like I just woke up and was like WAIT IT'S THE NINTH, I HAVEN'T EVEN DONE MY REVEALS POST, AAAAA.

Which is to say: belated Yuletide catchup here! :D I received the wonderful Snow/Ravenna Huntsman story Set Alight from Alona; the AMAZING mage-and-Catia-centric King Arthur fix-it (with delightful bonus Arthur) gave fins to fish and speckled wings to birds from melmillo; a SECOND King Arthur fic, perfect and bittersweetly insightful mage & Arthur gen, and coming events cast their shadows before, from none other than egelantier/eglantiere; the brilliant Big Country Jim/Steve longfic Wide as the Sky, Big as the Sea from Muccamukk/muccamukk; and the lovely Three/Six Dark Matter hallucination fic too good to be true from days4daisy. Five gifts, all of them delightful, and on a Christmas that sorely needed some delight. ♥

Thanks to all that generosity, I only barely managed to achieve my usual goal of writing more fics than I receive, with 6 stories total!

Doing exchanges is quite literally the reason I picked up this canon: when I was looking through exchange requests on the AO3, I kept getting through all the Dark Matter (TV) ones and then thinking there were more, and then realizing (OVER AND OVER) they were for this "Dark Matter - Michelle Paver" thing instead, and what even was that? And finally sheer curiosity drove me to get a copy of the book, and here we are. :D

My actual assignment, for GriegPlants! GriegPlants's request basically gave me carte blanche to just roll around in everything I love most about the Hellboy universe, and SO I DID. Not entirely sure it truly deserves that casefic tag, since the case is basically just a framework to hang all my Hellboy feelings on, but there is technically a case and they sort of solve it, so. :D

A story that should have been for galerian_ash last Yuletide, but the timing didn't work out. I'm so terrible at finishing things without deadlines that I didn't even manage to make it an NYR, and since it was for a 2016 request and not a 2017 request, it went in Madness! It was a lot of fun trying to come up with a plot that suited the sort of Conan the Barbarian/Xena-esque worldbuilding aesthetic of the movie, and I'm glad I managed to finally get this done. :D

I also managed to leave almost as many comments as I received; I'm going to try to make sure it's more in the end, but we'll see how I do. In conclusion: YAY YULETIDE. ♥
