Lions has the advantage of having a woman as the lead character. The men are still angsty, but she has no patience with it, which oddly helps me have more patience. It is kind of as if Lisseut were the lead of Song--actually the lead, that is, not just the lead in my head, heh. (Also, while there is angst, there is not what I would call manpain, in the sense that none of it is based on Tragically Dead Women in Their Backstories or Women They Were Tragically Betrayed By.)
