I am going to make a totally unqualified statement because I don't really have time/spoons, but I wanted to chime in with: a lot of Ursa-hate, for some reason, is from what I see taking place in a segment of the fandom that ignores the abuse and institutionalisation aspects of their family dynamics and doesn't recognise that difficult decisions are difficult decisions in constrained circumstances. =/
